In an effort to provide you as much information as possible when it comes to the top edge-rushers in the 2018 draft class, I am currently putting together as many sack compilation videos as I can between now and the end of April and especially when it comes to players who the Pittsburgh Steelers might select in the first few rounds.

NFL Draftscout shows Sam Hubbard running a 4.97 40 yard dash, if accurate that's way too slow to play 3-4 OLB

Not sure what his 40 time is, but he did have the fastest 3-cone drill (6.84) out of all D-line & Edge defenders at the combine.

So he is more effective rushing sideways?

So it sounds like he is better off running sideways....

Good point, run the 40 sideways. :chuckle:

This may show why a 3-cone is more telling than a 40yd for OLB/Edge.

Bingo!!!

To me, that’s a far more useful stat (although, I’m not much of a stats guy). The 3-come drill similates moving around blockers and/or pursuing a running back who is cutting. (If my OLB is running 40 yards, then my defense has bigger problems than just his straight-line speed.)

Ha, ha, ha... I was just saying that. Nice.

(And, the article/link provides more info than my mere opinion.)

I know, too many to look at them all. I stayed with prospects that rank as 1st or 2nd round possibilities this draft. One thing this list does do, is it allows for apples to apples comparison to test results, strengths and weaknesses, and scout analysis for Steelers past picks vs possible future picks.

Thanks, I'll surely look at them!
