Really hope they don't draft a WR until late. I think the need to draft a WR has been overstated by some. Yes Bryant is likely gone in after 2018, they still have AB who is the best in the league, they still have Juju, the best rookie WR of last year, and they still have Bryant for this year. At most they need a no. 4 WR for this year (maybe no. 5 if Rogers doesn't recover) and a no. 3 for 2019 possibly not even more than a no. 4, Rogers is a free agent, but if he is healthy, there is a good chance based on past history they resign him (the Steelers love resigning their backups for a reasonable price). Given how multiple rookie WRs have been able to make an impact, they can easily afford to wait until 2019 to draft Bryant's replacement.

However, given that they like drafting WRs (they drafted Coates in 2015 in 3rd round when I didn't think it was a need then) so they probably will end up drafting someone

assuming they did not know of Bryant's situation long before we did , I think they did know and is why the Coates pick was sent to the podium he was the most " Bryant like " wr in that draft on paper

There are so many viable WRs in this draft that are going a bit untalked about. Not many (maybe none?) of guys that project to be that dominant #1 that gets drafted early (Hopkins, Jones, etc). But take a look at some of these guys:

https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/equanimeous-st-brown - that is ridiculous and many projections have him available as deep as the 5th round? Why? He played in a crappy passing offense in college so people forgot he was really good.

https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/trequan-smith - another guy that carries a really low draft cost and could be polished into a serious NFL vertical threat.

https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/dylan-cantrell - can he separate enough at the next level? Remember who Juju wasn't suppossed to be able to do that? Cantrell will catch everything thrown within his reach.

My take on the WR class - there really isn't a guy in this class that is going to instantly change your offense as a New Dominant #1 WR. But there are plenty of really talented kids in this class that you can get outside of the first two rounds.

I think Christian Kirk is going to be a star. Likely to be passed on by a few WR needy teams - not a sexy pick. I've seen some say he'll drop to the 2nd. If he was there when we pick, I'd jump all over it. Extreme value pick. But... I think he'll go late 1 or early 2.
