Congrats Juju!

We have a lot to be thankful for both with regard to this year's draft and the last few as well.

well deserved. Cant wait to see both Juju and Watt bud into pro bowl talents next season

Two legitimate studs, and a few other good looking players in this past draft.

Let's have another one just like it next year.

That's how you improve your team in a hurry.

Indeed, I'm interested in your thoughts on the draft in the months ahead!

Could you, um, refrain from the word, "bud," when referring to our young players?

I'm sure I'll have plenty to say about it. Whether I'm right or wrong is another story!

Bigger Question:

Who has the better career, JuJu or Watt? IOW, if only one of the two made the HOF, which one would it be?

IMO, the biggest variables are what will be the long-term scheme for OLB (Watt) and who will be throwing JuJu the ball for most of his career?

I would say JuJu because he has good chance to have an edge for the longevity because of his young age right now ...

I would say Watt. Harder for WRs to get in than pass rushers.

Not to forget that being a WR is partly QB dependent. AB isn't quite the AB we know and love if Bubby Brister is throwing him the ball.

Yep. Far cry from about a decade ago when guys like Matt Sepulveda and Patrick Bailey were winning this award, and a very welcome departure from those days as well. There's a reason the team started 0-4 and were sitting at 2-6 at midseason in 2013.

Congrats to JuJu! :drink:

As others have stated, the WR line is already long. The sheer numbers might keep JuJu out.

I’ll add that WRs are “supposed” to make splash plays (TDs); so, often, TDs and clutch receptions are overlooked as simply “doing his job.” Whereas, a defender is supposed to simply stop the offense, and a sack is often seen as far bigger than any play on offense. Add in the occasional forced fumble and/or INT, and a defender goes from All Pro to HOF much more quickly (than a receiver). And... Watt has a propensity for making splash plays.

The thing that I am most pleased of the steelers in the last few years is that the rookies can now contribute and become important players in their first year....

Even Sutton who was OUT for the first 3 months contributed a bit and he could contribute in the playoffs.

Juju is simply entertaining to watch. He stands out among most players and deserves the award.

You know what I'm excited about?

The fact that there's a debate about which rookie deserves the honor. Everybody assumed at the beginning of the year that Watt would be a "no brainer" for ROY, maybe even for the league itself. I've no beefs with Watt's performance this year, it's only going to get better from here on and I can't wait to see how far he goes. JuJu was such a complete surprise and deserves the honor every bit as much as Watt. What a gem! Great player and awesome personality, not only has Pittsburghers embraced him, he has embraced Pittsburgh. He was tweeting from Pens games and other events in Pittsburgh within days of the draft.

Can't wait to see what both Watt and Jujubee has in store for the next few years....and hopefully long term extensions for both of them to stay in Pittsburgh.:whoo:

My money was on Holba at the beginning of the year.

I think it should’ve been Co-MVPs.

I would have been fine with that too.

Two difference-makers in one draft? What more can you ask for?

Done. Cam Sutton. It’ll just take a bit.

There are other players that may become difference-makers, but they haven't done enough yet to call them that. Watt and JuJu have already shown that they have an impact on the field over an extended period of time.

I love this past draft class.

He could definitely join the club in time.
