Ben Roethlisberger
Antonio Brown
Leveon Bell
Chris Boswell
Alejandro Villaenuva
Maurkice Pouncey
David Decastro
Ryan Shazier

Pretty surprised Boswell made it there. Thought Tucker would have made it on reputation alone, although hes playing as well as ever anyways and could get in anyways. Cameron Heyward is the obvious omission. I was hoping Tyler Matakevich could make it as a special teamer, he did win the fan voting. Villanueva made it on partly through name recognition, but happy for everyone on this list regardless of if they end up playing in the pro bowl or not (stay healthy guys, dont do it)

here come the "they wont be able to play in the pro bowl anyways because we'll be playing in another bowl" crowd

Man, Heyward got jobbed again! Positively ridiculous! DE in a 3-4 and he's likely gonna end up with 12 sacks.

Pro Football Focus said the following Steelers merited selection

Ben, AB, Bell, Gilbert(!), DeCastro & Shazier

https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2018-nfl-pro-bowl-cheat-sheet

Boswell benefited from being money on game winning FGs on multiple national broadcasts, Pouncey has name recognition, and after all the anthem turmoil AV has the image the NFL wants to put out there

I'd disagree on Gilbert given he's only played about 3 quarters all year.

I'd replace av's selection with heywards. Heyward's snub was ridiculous. It's a popularity contest

Agreed - the rationale was "Gilbert has allowed just four pressures all season." Given how much time he has missed due to injury and suspension not certain how impressive that is if you project it to actually playing a full season

He could still make it to the All-Pro teams, which is much more credible anyways.

I remember Richard Sherman making 1st team All-Pro in a season where he didnt get voted in the pro bowl. Calais Campbell seems destined for 1st team All Pro but surely Cam can make it as a 2nd team All-Pro

Literally - fan votes are a factor along with those of players and coaches

8... 10... 6... pfft.

None of them will be playing (because, they’ll be prepping for the game which occurs on the following Sunday).

Boswell was worth the Scobee trade. Yes, Steelers lost a 6th rounder in the trade, but there is not much of a chance you are going to get a player of Boswell's caliber (yes, I am aware Brown was a 6th, lightning in a bottle). Without that trade, there is no Boswell.

Dude is money.

Gonna buy his jersey if they even sell it.

9 pro bowlers and you couldn't even beat shitty ass Blake Bortles at home in the playoffs.

I'm happy for Cam because he's never been to a Pro Bowl before. He obviously should've already been on the team but that's how the popularity contest works.

What we can expect from the AFC team in the pro bowl:
A lot of bubble screens
A lot of wrap-around draws
Stupid playcalling
A lot blown coverages
The AFC team to come out as flat as a table top

This year, 8 Pro Bowl selections get you a divisional round playoff loss at home.

Maybe 10 is the magic number to get you to the championship game.

They’ve reached 10 with the additions of Cam Heyward and Rosie Nix...

Not the magic number...lol.
