I believe I heard a knee, MCL or something like that. Toussaint gives me the heebeegeebee's in playoff football.

Sucks. But it was a redshirt year anyway. He would've been nice insurance if Bell goes down.

Another year where we are stuck w/Frenchy as a backup heading to the postseason.

Tough luck. Obviously did not have his wheels run off. Just the way football goes.

So definitely gone for regular season - maybe back for first playoff game if Steelers get the bye?

Time to bring Watson up.

Gonna need surgery, probably out a few weeks. http://www.steelersdepot.com/2017/12/report-james-conner-expected-need-surgery-injured-knee/

Maybe give D-Will a call? He's still a free agent and has been keeping himself in shape supposedly.

Deangelo said he's looking for work and waiting for the call from the right team. I'd feel better having him back there compared to frenchy, he should be fresh.

If he has indeed been keeping himself in shape, I could get on board with that.

I'm all for getting DW back but what the heck is up with Watson ?

Wonder if they’ve ever considered letting Nix run the rock.

Making ex-Cheatriot stench as the backup plan? Really? Did this team learn nothing from Sucker Punch?

Not even close to the same situation. Really is not a bad player. Never been a troublemaker. He has veteran Playoff experience and may have some info on the patriots and how they do business. Not a bad signing at first glance.

Not a bad signing at first glance. If they really wanted to know how the Pats do business they should hired a ex Ref.:applaudit: Didn't we sign Ridley a couple years ago when Bell went down in the playoffs ? He didn't pass the physical or something if I'm right ?

I think Ridley was with the Jets after the Patriots...?

Most of those were just couple/few week transactions. Nothing of substance.

The good thing is, none of this trash is replacing Bell.

I've been thinking about this move -- and I've kinda talked myself into it.

1. Keeps Watson on the PS for a week or so. If you promote him and then sign some guy to the PS that doesn't work out or Watson doesn't work out on the 53 man roster -- you have to expose him to waivers again. This lets you "audition" other guys and not risk losing Watson. You can always promote him later.

2. The list of free agent RBs right now is underwhelming at best. I thought that Tre Mason stood out on that list, but then I read that he no joke went crazy. Like his family is scared for him. So that isn't what you want to inject into a playoff roster. I think you can just take DWill and a few others right out of contention - the Steelers have shown that whenever possible they are going with youth (or at least relative youth).

3. Ridley doesn't have to be the final addition. I don't know when playoff rosters are set, but you can keep bringing guys in.

Any chance Ridley is here to keep another team(that needs an offensive weapon) from picking him up?

Tre Mason is too much risk, I agree, especially for a playoff team. It's shame, the guy seemed really talented, but a total head case

But if not for him being crazy, he would have already been picked up a long time ago

If any of these guys are replacing Bell the Steelers are once again screwed - based on the video of AB being noncommittal last night about being back for the playoffs I already am getting prepared for another playoff run at nothing close to full strength

I wish Sutton would have gotten a chance, because wasn't he pretty good at it in college? Though at this point in the season it's probably better to go with the safe hand.

For whatever reason Tomlin very rarely will use a defensive player to return any kicks.

Yep. And it's too bad. Sutton was a great PR in college.

Sutton had an 18.7 punt return avg in 2015 and 4 TDs in his career on punt returns.

Eli Rogers doesn't thrill me on punts.

But when you have the proven talent on the team and refuse to use it...it’s an issue...that brings you trash like Gary Russell, a washed up Jacoby Jones, Chris Rainey, Felix Jones, etc.

Bryant was decent but he just gave up so easy once he was touched. He would just slow down and stop like he was afraid of contact.
