Falcons vs. Steelers at Heinz Field on opening day
The first of four games that Ben cannot play
So Dennis Dixon would get his chance to start
Each and every player would have to do their part
The first score was Jeff Reed’s record breaking 52 yard field goal
Later he would miss a 55 when it bounced off the upright pole
Until late second quarter, we kept trading punts
Unfortunately in that time, Dixon was intercepted once
This led to no score because Bryant kicked it wide
But another kick before halftime would make the score tied
Soon the Falcons would score a field goal again
We were going to need some big play from #10
He threw a 52 yard bomb to Wallace - what a beautiful throw
Soon we were tied again off Jeff Reed’s toe
It was nine to nine with two minutes to play
We would need something big to win on this day
Just when we were wondering “where was the Hair?”
He picked off Matt Ryan, showing up out of nowhere
That opened the door for us to go for the win
But Reed missed his kick so OT would begin
Atlanta won the toss so they took the ball
But our defense played hard, they answered the call
Next it was Mendenhall’s time to shine
A 50 yard dash to the goal line
That gave us our 8th consecutive home opener win in a row
And now it is off to Tennessee our Steelers will go
Living in Nashville of course I will be at this game
We remember the last one here – the results won’t be the same
The Titans are tough - stopping Chris Johnson might be tougher
But we’re here for a win and it's a loss they will suffer
