For those that dreamed of having the best ILB tandem in the league when we chased Donta Hightower, Bowman is even better.

Bowman released per his own request.

Is he still any good? Niners just ate 10 million in dead money to get rid of a guy who is pushing 30 and has suffered two massive injuries in the last few seasons.

My biggest question does he still have the quickness and agility that he made his name on? If so, sure get him signed up.

We've only got something like $1.5M in cap space at the moment, and I think he's going to command significantly more than that and be looking for more than a half-season rental deal.
If it's just everything else being equal "do I want him or not," then hell yes, but I think we'd have to be extremely lucky for that to happen.

just wondering if he is half the LBer he used to be after the injuries, but who do you take off the field?

I was reading some stuff from Niners fans who say he’s done.

Have to see how injured Williams is. Bowman may become a BIG need...

Yup. Wonder if they go with Matakevich or what I would love to see them do is kick Watt inside and start Deebo.

No idea if Watt could handle it as a rookie, but that might actually be their best 4 backers.

I think he's ok, his mouth was going 100mph on the sideline

On the final few plays (when Deebo came in) I saw Watt lined up as an ILB.

I foresee (eventually) him being used as Derrick Thomas was used. KC played a 3-3 and Thomas was the “hawk”... playing anywhere he wanted: ILB, OLB, DE.

great call :hatsoff:

Great all around fit for both Raiders and NB.

1. Raiders really needed an ILB, 2. Bowman stays in Cali.

Bowman is looking pretty good tonight.

They said on the telecast that they already have given him the play calling responsibility. A player signed off another team and he is ready to play in 3 days? And lead the defense? LeBeau would have had him in street clothes while he learned the defense.

Yep. Romo was saying that it was smart, because it gave Bowman an extra 5-10 seconds to process the play & his assignment (as opposed to having to merely hear it and be expected to play a few moments later).

Hear it, say it out loud, and voila! he’s already doubled the amount of processing time.

He was a great pickup.

He can still play. The problem is that he has been an injury waiting to happen. There was a time just a few years ago when Patrick Willis was considered the best LB in the NFL and he wasn't even the best LB on his team. Bowman was flat out awesome.

I have watched his career and he has been a great, great player. I think he still can be very good. I just hope that he can stay on the field for you guys and continue his career.
