“Everything that could leak, burn, snap or rupture did so with the regularity of the Anvil Chorus. The collected service advisories would look like the Gutenberg Bible.”
That was how Time Magazine reviewed the 1984 Maserati Biturbo, including it on their list (http://time.com/4723114/50-worst-cars-of-all-time/) one of the 50 worst cars ever produced.
And that’s how you could describe Ben Roethlisberger’s performance yesterday. Heck, the whole season. But yesterday reached its zenith. Five interceptions, the most of his career. A pair of pick six’s, only the second time that’s happened to him. In a year where expectations were as high as ever, the offense continues to falter in spectacularly frustrating fashion.

Now that a lot of pieces have been assembled on this team, the main cog seems to have lost his way. Is it his mindset? Contemplating retirement has set him back. He doesn't seem to be following the team plan and he just wants the big plays all the time.

If he can't dial it back and take what the defense gives him, he may not even take this team to the playoffs.

IMO, I think Ben would have retired if it wasn't for the money he would have had to pay back. I'm sure its invested, it's not like he could write a check out and pay Art back.

I hope he can get it together and go out on a winning season but the heart and mind have to be on the same page.

He's mailing it in. His timing is way off and is throwing off his back foot regularly. I think he tired of all the hits and politics and would rather be on his boat or with the kids. At this point he better have a serious talk with the coaches. They should level with him too and offer to Jones go in for relief if he can run the score up.
