HENDERSON, Nev. -- You can't see the Las Vegas strip from the sweltering Green Valley High School football field on which Martavis Bryant (http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/16886/martavis-bryant) spent his summer mornings. It's 13 miles away but might as well be a thousand. Bryant and his girlfriend popped over for a Jabbawockeez show one night in early July, but then it was straight home to their 3-month-old son. The lights and the noise and all the neon temptation aren't interesting to the Pittsburgh Steelers (http://www.espn.com/nfl/team/_/name/pit/pittsburgh-steelers) wideout these days, no matter how close to them he lives.

Another child and trying to renew his relationship with his father who had abandoned him?

Hopefully, these are positives with regard to him maturing, as opposed to stressors, that cause him to relapse.

I completely agree that he is the X factor.

I also believe he could be the key to tipping the scale in our favor, if we meet the Patriots in the playoffs.

This Q&A was interesting

Do you miss smoking weed?"

No, because at the end of the day it's not going anywhere," Bryant said. "Right now, I have a career to worry about, and a family. So, no, there's times and places for other stuff, and down the line, that could come.

In other words - yeah, I miss smoking weed and once I can do it again without losing my job I plan to smoke weed :chuckle:

Hopefully we get a couple of years out of him before the time and place happen.

Yep... that jumped out to me, too.

Do you miss weed?
It's not going anywhere.

He will get complacent and fuck up. I just hope they can win a Super Bowl before he does.

Confirmation you have to be an absolute moron not to be able to avoid a positive drug test and stay out of the NFL's random testing program

This from transcripts in the Ezekiel Elliott disciplinary proceeding

At some point during the arbitration hearing, Elliott had to answer questions under oath from NFL lawyer Daniel Nash...

Nash: "And I think you said you liked her [ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson] because she liked to party, drink and do drugs?"
Elliott: "Yes."
Nash: "You liked to do that, too?"
Elliott: "I do like to party." ...

Nash: "You like to do drugs?"
Elliott: "I did in college."

Despite the fact the Elliott is admitting that he liked to do drugs in college, the running back never failed a drug test during his three-year career at Ohio State (https://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/teams/page/OHIOST/ohio-st-buckeyes)

During a separate interview with (https://www.scribd.com/document/357775064/show-temp-8?secret_password=oppFqEXrOx8Rzq740j8I#from_embed) NFL investigator Kia Roberts in September 2016, Thompson alleged that Elliott had been smoking weed and doing cocaine while he was in Miami training for the NFL Draft (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft).

"When he was in Miami, he was doing a bunch of coke and smoking, and all of that," Thompson said.

I never understood the rule against weed. If anything it should be mandatory AFTER games.

Just don't come to practice or work high. It's not like it enhances performance.

Agreed - It is PR to placate the "just say no" crowd - NFL encourages players to do something safe like Toradol instead
