The Pittsburgh Steelers will close out their 2017 preseason Thursday night with a road game against the Carolina Panthers and if you’re hoping cornerback Senquez Golson will finally make his NFL debut in that contest, you are about to be disappointed yet again.

They should just cut him at the deadline

If he is taking up Watson's roster space, Golson should go.

IR

I wouldnt , he has gotten far to comfortable living on his full time salary from IR designation ...

cut his ass if he clears waivers consider signing him to the PS where he makes next to nothing in comparison and if he gets hungry maybe he will try to eat ?

This is the first year where the dead cap is in the team's favor. Be interesting to see what they do.

I think we can not release a player who is injured

yes
thanks for clarifying.

This is the route we should go. If he clears waiver give him chum change to what he is used to earning. That would light a fire under his ass...

just hope the pats , ravens, bengals dont pick him up

hamstring won't keep a guy from passing an exit physical not several week post injury , its not like he ripped it off , at this point the only thing he is ripping off is the payroll department

I don't see any team picking him up.

I think that's right, it's either IR or an injury buyout, which I believe also prevents the player from re-signing with the same team that season. I don't know, maybe the rules are different in preseason.

Time to cut ties.

Sad thing is, he was very good. Hilton gets a lot of hype right now. Golson and Hilton both played for Ole Miss at the same time. Hilton was a UDFA, Golson was a 2nd round pick. Think on the implications. Golson was a good pick that just couldn't get on the field due to injury. I don't think it's malicious on his part as some seem to. I think it's just been bad luck. But yes, I think he's done with NFL football now. No team is going to pick up a guy that hasn't played a down in 3 years.

Golson was overdrafted. He was predicted to go in the 3rd or 4th round and we reached for him in the 2nd. IMO it's time to move on. He doesn't even seem to care if he plays or not.

This is perfectly said. There is NOTHING to evaluate.

If he is taking up Watson's roster space, Golson should go.

If we're sacrificing our RB depth for this clown, there is no justice. Especially with Bell not being as reliable as he is, RB depth is a definite concern.

Mike Hilton is fine as the replacement. Dude has been balling all preseason.

Golson has become a tumor on this team and has got to go.
