Well, at least we know what everyone will blame the first loss on.

Good to get that out of the way early.

Harrison will end up starting again by about Week 4, mark my words.

It will depend how they will perform...I hope that Watt and Dupree will play well.

Porter had a "snap count" for Deebo in 2015 when he came back so we'll see how long this lasts.

Unless Porter is playing mind games with Deebo to make him angry and well Bruce Banner and stuff....

But I hope Tomlin will put Harrison on the field more often if our pass rush is not very good.

Tomlin is stubborn sometimes.Antwon Blake was a starter for a whole season, even his GM had given an better option (Boykin) in 2015 and Jarvis Jones was a starter for too long.

I would have shared the snap between Watt and Harrison, since Harrison has 39 years old and Watt is a rookie.

But as I said,I hope that Watt and Dupree play well

Different speech and I think Porter spoke a little too fast!

Yeah starting for Dupree because of injury. Otherwise, he'll be valuable and fresh down the stretch.

mark me down as NOT a fan of handing out starting jobs after week 1 of the preseason especially when the guy you are kicking off the starting roster was your most productive pass rusher the prior year and has not even practiced ( coaches decision ) this year ...

starting jobs need to be earned not handed out without competition

And Tomlin is not in agreement with Porter.

It doesn't rally matter who runs out their at the first whistle. It matters about how the # of snaps are distributed.

Use the young guy to play the run and chase pass catchers. Then let JH come in and terrorize QBs.

Its what most late thirties pass rushers do.

Most teams start their first round pick.

The perfect scenario is for Dupree to stay healthy and have a great year and for Watt to have a solid year where he improves as the year goes on and gets 8=10 sacks. Harrison is rotated in, particularly on passing downs where they can also get creative with the pass rush and blitzing, and he is able to stay fresh and effective going into the playoffs.

I'm not going to get too worked up about who's starting. For the record, Watt has already shown more than Jarvis Jones ever did.

T.J. Watt is not Jarvis Jones.

Sack Party!

It's pretty simple, they want the young guys on the field. They don't want Harrison playing as much like he has in the past two seasons.

They used first round picks on both Dupree, and Watt, so they will be used as such.

Tomlin said what he said because he didn't want to back himself into a corner, why? because he's the Head Coach. I'm confident that he agrees with Porter, so does the whole front office.

It would be funny if Tomlin said in his next interview that making Watt and Dupree starters in no way reflects their draft position while James Harrison went undrafted...

Peazy was too scared to tell Deebo lol.

When they do their little pregame shenanigans, look for Deebo to hit Joey extra hard LMAO

funny little FACT ...

Steelers depth chart version 2 ...

James Harrison is still listed as the Starter ( the depth chart is done by Tomlin )

looking more and more like JPeezy just running his mouth about things he does not control once again

Although I think Tomlin and Porter are not on the same page, I almost do not care about the depth chart.

I mean, Bell is not there right now, but Conner is still the 4th RB on this depth chart right now!

Those published depth charts mean nothing in the preseason.

You are looking at the man who made the greatest play in Steelers history and the Super Bowl combined. The Immaculate Interception.

I think that a 10-sack season could get him in the HOF.

Yep, never pay attention to the depth chart at this time of the season.

Even if Harrison starts week 1(it's not likely), it will not be for long.

More coaching lunacy? Handing a player the starting job based on draft status, not ability. When will they learn you put your best players on the field? I want Watt to earn the job. Also, if Dupree struggles then he may need to split time with Chickillo.

Unless Porter is referring to pre-season.

Again - I do not care who runs out of the tunnel as the starter. I do care who sees the most critical snaps.

Right now, there are only two proven effective pass rushers at OLB on the roster - Deebo and Dupree. One is far more effective than the other.

Watt is a lottery ticket that could pan out.

Moats is a stop-gap until a team finds something better.

Chickillo is the definition of Mr. August. Looks good against guys that will be bagging groceries in a month and then disappears in regular season action.

The later round pick (adams?) - hope he gets healthy and shows something in games 2-3 of the preseason. The team is still short at the position overall.
