Leave it to the Raiders to make someone the highest paid ever. Of course nobody is worth that money but that's what the salaries are going to these days. At least this time I think they spent their money wisely. Derek Carr is going to be a really good quarterback especially with the weapons he has now.

Just the sign of the times with mediocre QBs like Alex Smith, Andy Dalton, Moonball Joe, and Ryan Tannehill getting $15-20 million

Carr is still young and has improved in each of his first 3 seasons.The raiders had 12-4 last year(12-3 with Carr) and Carr was the big reason why.

For his contract, he will not be the highest paid player for long.
