Year 4 and you have to tell him to grow up? Good bye McCullers, no heart, guts or drive to play NFL football.


With the Pittsburgh Steelers not drafting a defensive linemen, there was no appearance made by DL coach John Mitchell. So a hearty kudos to Steelers.com for grabbing Mitchell in an interview (http://www.steelers.com/videos/videos/Coach-Spotlight-Mitchell/1062afa3-2710-47d7-8b41-7c7d2911c6bb) over on the team site to pick Mitchell’s brain.
Mitchell is known for candor and less for coach speak. He ran through the group of defensive linemen, generally praising them, but calling out Daniel McCullers to step up.

Thats 5 d-linemen who are locks Imo.

Big Dan probably still makes this team, but it'll be interesting to see how Johnny Maxey has improved. He's the guy that could challenge Dan for the 6th spot.

Wonder if the Jets will cut Steve McLendon? bringing him back would be a great addition.

We don't really have a "traditional NT", but on our roster that spot belongs to Hargrave I believe.

He pretty much just stepped in front of McCullers when he got here. Wasn't even much competition. If that doesn't get Big Dan fired up, I don't see anything else doing it.

We've been waiting for Big Dan to grow up and play with some fire in his belly.....I don't think he has it in him.

Really a shame. I've seen him have moments when you see the potential shine for a moment when he's walked a center 3 yards into the backfield and made a play blow apart....but then he'd disappear the very next play....
