A healthy Bud Dupree vows to "Turn it up another notch" in 2017

As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepared to begin offseason training activities in 2016, second-year linebacker Bud Dupree was a popular pick for the breakout candidate of the season. Unfortunately, a groin injured derailed much of his year before it ever got going and he was forced to miss OTA’s, training camp and the first 11 weeks of the regular season.

While he played well upon his return, much more will be expected this year from a player selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Now fully healthy, Dupree has spent the offseason training with renowned pass rushing specialist Chuck Smith and has been a full participant in OTA’s so far.

When talking with Mike Prisuta of Steelers.com, Dupree was clearly full of confidence and eager for the season ahead:

“I’m gonna turn it up another notch. It’s gonna go down. It’s gonna be a big year, man. It’s gonna be a great year. It’s gonna be a big year for me but not only for me, for my whole defense as a whole.”

This is exactly what this team needs to take it to another level defensively. I'm hoping that he is ready to start dominating.

Rumor has it...he's ready to hit someone!

Could be someone in the Bengals secondary.......but that wouldn't be an LB's job.

Lets hope.

We can't have another season with Harrison being the best edge rusher.

Dupree having a huge year would really help this defense.

The thing that really stood out was the noticeable leap in talent and pressure when he returned to the lineup last year.
