View Full Version : Marcus Gilbert ready for the battle against Myles Garrett

Ir was a natural question to pose to Myles Garrett, and the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft provided a predictable answer. Shortly after being drafted, Garrett was asked which NFL quarterback he’d like to sack the most. His answer: Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2017/04/27/Browns-Myles-Garrett-Ben-Roethlisberger-NFL-draft-No-1-pick/stories/201704270197).

The rookie defensive end’s response caught the attention of the Steelers employees who are assigned the task of protecting Roethlisberger, most notably right tackle Marcus Gilbert, who responded to Garrett over Twitter: “See you 9/10 big fella.”


The season opener might be 3˝ months away, but Gilbert is already preparing for the challenge of facing Garrett.


“Of course I saw it,” Gilbert said Thursday after the final OTA of the week at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. “It was on every news outlet. To us, we look at it as a challenge. Who wouldn’t want to go up against a future Hall of Fame quarterback? When you look at our division, Ben stands out alone. I can see why he would say that. But then again, that was a challenge. He wrote a check. Whoever challenges one of our guys, or our team, we’re going to step in and be ready for the battle.”...........
