I would not be opposed if he could be acquired reasonably
Calvin Pryor (http://www.nfl.com/player/calvinpryor/2543469/profile), S, New York Jets: GM Mike Maccagnan sent a clear message by drafting strong safety Marcus Maye (http://www.nfl.com/player/marcusmaye/2557995/profile) in the second round after selecting safety Jamal Adams (http://www.nfl.com/player/jamaladams/2557979/profile) in Round 1: Pryor, the Jets (http://www.nfl.com/teams/newyorkjets/profile?team=NYJ)' first-round pick in 2014, will be on another team by the end of the week, if New York can find a trade partner for him.

He's an intriguing prospect. Could definitely provide some depth if anything. He probably wouldn't be a difference maker considering the Jets are trying to replace him. It's worth a shot, but I cannot see us taking on that contract. If an injury occurred in the secondary there may be a slight chance, but not likely. After all it's the Steelers were talking about.
I bet he knows how to tell a good joke.

where does he fit? Mitchell and Davis as entrenched starters. Golden definitely entrenched as the top backup. Dangerfield has even started games and acquitted himself well. Not sure how much to dish out for a 5th safety

if the price was right perhaps playing him at SS and moving Davis to free

Pryor is just 24 years old but has 3 years exp in the league ( 38 starts) so would be getting a lot younger at the pos what is Mitchell 31 ?
Pryor is a tone setter in the middle of a Def he isnt afraid to lower the BOOM , he hasnt set the world on fire but he is not exactly surrounded by talent either

What a pair of safeties they have now! Wow!
Like you said, I'm all for it for the right price. If there was any year that the team might surprise us with a free agent pickup, the time is now with the Ben window getting smaller.
That said, it probably won't happen.

Sounds good in theory, but Pryor is not very good at being an NFL Player (http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/nfl/9438/calvin-pryor):
"With 42 career games under his belt, Pryor has forced just two fumbles and picked off two passes. He's constantly out of place in coverage."
"Pryor arrived in New York with huge expectations but has been a colossal bust, grading out as PFF's No. 87 safety out of 91 qualifiers in 2016."
Now, that is just someone at ESPN and PFF opinions might be off-base. But with those kinds of broad evaluations, Pryor's already looking at a back-up role for minimum $$. I mean I think he could be okay-ish as a back-up box safety, but he is a disaster in coverage - at least how the Jets used him.

what a team has to figure out is was it because of Pryor or because the entire secondary sucked ass Revis included ..
still young considering all the experience he has and he should have been used as a box safety / 10 yards from los or less

He doesn't fit in our cover 2 scheme either. He's a cover 3 guy. He's still on his rookie contract. Not worth the price for a backup.
