Check off another box on the journey of James Conner, and this one might be the biggest one yet — with quite a twist by the time he heard his name called Friday night.
From a season-ending knee injury to a cancer diagnosis to a successful comeback from both, and now, to a third-round NFL draft pick by the Steelers. Just when it seemed he might have to wait another 12 hours, give or take, this is the latest chapter in Conner’s story..........
