Looking at the schedule, much too far in advance, I see 4 losses with 1 unforeseen loss somewhere. I think we split with the Ravens again, Tennessee beats us for some reason, losses at Texans and at Chiefs are nothing to be ashamed of.

A win in week 1 would be like 2 wins to start the season on(1-0 plus division win). I honestly think we go 4-0 vs the NFC North. Vikes and Pack at home, Lions in the dome, and Bears are without a QB. 2-2 vs the AFC South. AND I actually fell we put a thrashing on the Pats at home this season. 40+ to somewhere in the teens kind of thrashing. Payback will be sweet. We could end up with an unexpected loss somewhere too. Maybe split another division team for 1 unforeseen loss, maybe. 12-4 or 11-5 division champs again.

This isn't to go against you specifically, but I kinda almost wish the Steelers get strafed in the regular season against the Pats playing man with a zone roster. Then maybe everyone could let it go and realize that you can only cook the meal you have the groceries for. The Pittsburgh Steelers currently have 1 MAYBE 2 man coverage players on the roster - Burns and Cockrell. That's it. Now, we can seriously evaluate how they fell about that harsh reality in about 1 week's time. Until then, can we seriously stop acting like playing zone was a decision?

Then I want to see them dismantle the Pats in the playoffs as the last 3 draft classes on defense come on-line and start to dominate.

Right. But a roster construction problem is different than a strategic/tactical error by the coaching staff. The Steelers have made strides in the last several years of obtaining players that can be a part of a man coverage or match-up zone scheme (Burns, Cock, Davis, Shazier) -- but that is a fairly big change in coverage philosophy so it will likely take another draft cycle or two. Realistically they need to replace/upgrade on Gay, Golden, Dangerfield, Whoever is currently the 4th CB, and maybe another "coverage" LB. I think surrounded by the right CBs and not asked to be primary nickel backs -- Mitchell and Davis should be more than adequate.

While I do not disagree at all, I don't think any schedule is 'easy', consider there are only 4 playoff teams from last season.
