He sat out all last season and unless he got caught or gets caught smoking up again, I see no reason why he shouldn't be allowed to play this season.

But this is Goodell we're talking about afterall.

Yeah, Goodell always throws logic out the door in favor of his favoritism and personal vendettas

Rodger has been known to dodger the date and delay the decision until he sees fit. Maybe tomorrow maybe a month or so, we'll see.

I doubt Goodell will make the announcement this week while he is at the owners' meeting in Arizona unless he wants to tell the Rooneys in person

As the linked article states, it is recommended but not required Goodell respond within 60 days of the application for reinstatment

He'll probably wait until the day after the draft.

Ugh i didnt realize the wording conveniently makes it unobligatory for him to make a decision by the 28th. I bet Bryant doesnt get reinstated by August with our luck

Even so the Steelers should move forward as if he wasn't on the roster.

Because Bryant is one more Cheech and Chong from being off of it.

So if he makes it through the year you consider it a bonus.

I've gotta side with Goodell. He's not the guy that violated the policy. Was given a slap on the wrist and then violated again and again. Why should he make a swift decision?

Because the team was also punished by not having him on the roster, and because the team deserves to know before the draft so they can form the team and know all their needs like all teams should be entitled to.

I thought the CBA said it had to be done by a certain date? What happens if Goofdell goes past that date?

If that POS Michael Vick was allowed back into the League, Martavis should be a no brainer, but this is Goodell we're talking about.

So who else came here to be disappointed about the 99% chance of a lack of a decision

The disappointment to me is that Bryant got himself suspended at all. Bell starts the last 2 seasons suspended, and Bryant misses an entire season. Sure Golson missed 2 seasons in a row, but that was just bad luck. Stop allowing Goodell this much power in the offseason.

I am continually shocked at how fantastically terrible of a deal the NFLPA and the owners conned the players in to accepting.

The NFLPA has to be the worst union ever. The job of union (at least to me) is to protect its members - even from themselves. Instead the NFLPA and the players it represents were like "OMG! A 2% increase in salaries that are totally not guaranteed! Where do I sign?"

Maybe if some of these guys actually went to classes while they were in the minors, err...I mean...college...

[W]hen asked Tuesday about Bryant and his possible return at the AFC coaches breakfast at the NFL meetings, Tomlin had this to say:

“We’re hopeful [about his return]. Martavis is a good guy. We wish him nothing but the best. But the train moves on and we've been on it for 12 months. Hopefully he'll get on.”

Hopefully he'll get on? He's trying to get on but he can't find a way to "buy" a ticket because the "ticket guy" is incompetent.

He is looking pretty pumped in that article, adding 20 lbs of muscle and if he can stay clean we would have a 1a and 1b for WR's next season. Add a healthy Green and we would be unstoppable, Ben should be licking his chops at the chance to have that WR corps. With our improving Def, we could be on the way to a dominant couple of seasons.

Hopefully Goodell will find room in his schedule to reinstate Bryant between the hours he spends talking to himself about how great he is and his gatherings with Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft.

Blowing two guys...it doesn't leave much room for reinstatement...not speaking from experience...this is just what I've heard on the intranets.

If he can stay clean we should call them AA and AB.

Is he working out at this gym?

The world's first pot-friendly gym is opening in San Francisco

This fall, San Franciscans will be able to get high while getting swole.

A new gym called Power Plant Fitness will allow members to consume marijuana on-site while working out. It's claiming to be the world's first cannabis-friendly gym.

Lol, how would pot help with working out? If you are that addicted that you cant wait an hour or so to smoke up while you work out, you have more issues than being out of shape.

It has nothing to do with addiction! Marijuana can help speed up recovery times as well as prolonged endurance. It has plenty of benefits for working out.

Somehow, I am not thinking that Bryant or the millions of others who use pot are using it for the stated reasons above . . . but that maybe that is just me. I will concede that there are medicinal uses for pot though.

More importantly, who the hell wants to work out when they're high? That's about the LAST thing on your mind.

I've always thought of Bowling as more of a pot head sport than football. You have an ashtray built right in. The ball comes right back to you. The machine keeps score so you don't need to do ANY math. Nachos and pizza are permitted in the player area.

I use before I run every time, it helps me concentrate and I do have better endurance, plus I know several people that consume before working out. The old stereotype of unmotivated, couch potato stoner is very outdated. Successful business men and women, doctors, athletes and many other use marijuana and lead healthy, productive lives.

Ummmm......NO THEY DON'T. Doctors? With facing malpractice every day, every patient? You expect anyone to believe they would allow that in their system? There are sooooo many other drugs at their disposal if they want to get high.
We already know about athletes, duh.
Most 'STONERS' are just that. That's where the name comes from. Being 'stoned'.
We ALL know people that use, and live normal lives, sure. You can guess they use but you wouldn't "know". We also ALL know dumbass stoners. Nothing outdated about stoners. They are still all over the damn place.

Anecdotal information, meet science:

Pharmacodynamics: THC binds to cannabinoid receptors and interferes with important endogenous cannabinoid neurotransmitter systems. Receptor distribution correlates with brain areas involved in physiological, psychomotor and cognitive effects. Correspondingly, THC produces alterations in motor behavior, perception, cognition, memory, learning, endocrine function, food intake, and regulation of body temperature.

If the alteration caused by THC is increasing your ability to concentrate, then stop taking the damn stuff as self-medication and go see a doctor to get a diagnosis and real medication.
