And I expect you to to miss multiply games because of a concussion next season. This guy would be great if not for this, but you know its coming. Your not going to play TE, WR or RB and not get popped in the head. The Steelers must draft a TE.

It’s now been a little more than one full year since the Pittsburgh Steelers signed tight end Ladarius Green to a four-year, $20 million contract. While Green’s first season with the Steelers certainly didn’t go as many hoped it would due to ankle problems and a concussion, the tight end expects to play in 2017.
“I expect to come back,” Green told ESPN of offseason workouts, according to (http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18936107/ladarius-green-pittsburgh-steelers-preparing-return) Jeremy Fowler.

he missed what 7 games to end the year with a concussion ? ( may have been a little less but seems about right )

if it takes him that long to recover from one when its normally a week to 10 days the smart thing for him may be hanging them up and the smart thing for the team is to get insurance unless they feel Grimble is about to break out ?

"I would like to get paid millions of dollars again to take a few hits and ride the bench half the season."

We need reliable players. Not ones that we don't know week to week if they're going to be available or not.

I think the fact that the Steelers didn't try to rush Green back last year after the concussion is probably a big reason why they feel confident that he may be able to contribute. That was a hell of a hit that he took. It happens. Green had an incredibly unlucky season with the ankle issues and also the concussion. His potential alone is enough to not cut him. Let's see how the offseason plays out before we throw him to the curb.

Agreed. How much of his current contract is guaranteed? He only got about half of his guaranteed money last year or something like that. I think I read that on here. So we're paying him this season either way. May as well get what we can out of him. Maybe it works out like everybody wants and he has a great season. :crossed:

Yes, if we're paying him anyway, and he wants to play, might was well keep him. I'd like to have a contingency plan in place though. I don't want to have to rely on James and a bunch of questionable talent at TE.

Not impressed with green at all. The only thing I've seen so far is that he's injury prone. We need to draft a reliable TE. I wouldn't be heartbroken at all if he left.

I think he wants to come back, problem is his lingering concussion issues may not allow him to be on the field often

When he was available (see: Giants game), WOW!!!

The problem is, as much as he wants to play, he has to pass concussion protocol... which just isn't going to happen. If somehow he does get back onto the field, one hit and his season (career) is over.

I know it's a different sport. Sid Crosby was close to hanging it up with concussion issues and look at him now.

Agreed. Unfortunately Bell fits this statement as well.

That's why I'd like to see a RB drafted or FA signed also. We better not go into next season with Frenchy as the backup.

I completely agree with you man. We need better options.

IF Green can stay healthy and it's a big IF, he's a Top-5 TE in the league...easily. Right now they have all receiving type TEs and a blocking TE in Johnson. They were spoiled for so many years with Heath who could do both.
