Antonio Brown expresses gratitude to Steelers organization, desire to improve as teammate
PITTSBURGH -- Antonio Brown had a conversation with Steelers President Art Rooney II last summer that left the star receiver assured this day would come.
"Once he gives you his word, he sticks to his word," Brown said Tuesday morning in a press conference at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
The Steelers signed Brown to a lucrative five-year, $72.71 million contract this week (http://www.timesonline.com/sports/steelers/steelers-antonio-brown-leapfrogs-nfl-s-top-paid-wide-receivers/article_fb1d3510-fd48-11e6-abd4-eb3cc2fbf745.html) to make him the highest paid receiver in the NFL. He will earn an average salary of $17 million per year, with a $19 million guaranteed singing bonus up front. Brown, 28, his family -- including four young children -- looking on, stood at the podium sporting a black three-piece suit with and expressed his gratitude to the Rooney family, coach Mike Tomlin, general manager Kevin Colbert and his teammates.

That doesn't even include the extra money the Steelers will pay forward when he starts to bitch about how he needs more $.
