Few things on this planet mean as much to Sidney Crosby as his mother, Trina, but there’s no way he planned this.
While Sidney was stuck one or two points shy of 1,000 for his career since Feb. 7, Trina was stuck in Nova Scotia, unable to get out because of a snowstorm.
Her son’s historic performance Thursday — a goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win against the Jets at PPG Paints Arena, surpassing the 1,000-point plateau in the process — was definitely worth the wait.............
