He's not going to be a first ballot guy but he should get in eventually. I hope it's sooner than later. Deion is an obvious first ballot guy; do you think Faulk gets in right away?

Bettis should get the nod. But then again the NFL probably doesn't like the idea of having another Steeler in the HOF.

Looking at that list, there is very little hope that Bettis gets in on his first attempt. But he will obviously get in.

I don't think Bettis gets in on the first try, but he should definitely get in at some point in time. (and I hope it's soon.)

IMHO, Bettis should get in before Faulk.

I think that Bettis gets in before Faulk...but possibly not before Martin. I hope they take into consideration that Bettis is the most prolific BIG BACK of all time. Virtually all of his yards were gained up the middle.

I'd think the opposite. Faulk was a better back than Bettis IMO. Marshall did it all.

Not sure he will make it first attempt because of the other names on this list, but damn well deserves it!

You think the order of induction could be

1) Martin
2) Bettis
3) Faulk???

No way, imo. Everyone knows the deal with Bettis and Faulk. Most of you are probably reading this and going: "Curtis who??"

I hope Martin gets in there someday though, he is THE most underrated RB in NFL history.

Just wondering: Does Martin go in as a *Patriot or a Jet? :scratchchin:

Gotta disagree...I call it even with how important each was to their team with what they brought to the table.
Bettis used to beat up and wear down opposing defenses while helping the offense rack up the time of possesion, plus he was very productive yards wise rushing.
Faulk, while having power to occasionally run over defenders, used his nimbleness and finess to be a threat in both the air and ground game.

They had two different styles. I'm not trying to say otherwise. But Faulk was the more complete back and was just as important to the Greatest Show on Turf as much as Bettis was to our power running.

Bettis deserves to get in on the first ballot, just watching him bowl over all those defenders to get the tough yards

Whenever he does get inducted, I plan on making my way up to Canton to see it.
