View Full Version : Week 17:Cleveland Browns

The Browns have not won in Pittsburgh since 2003, but they have a very good chance because the Steelers are going to play their reserves, especially on offense.

But with the Browns win will probably not have the first overall pick in the upcoming draft, so this game will look like a pre-season game.

Prediction for this game?

Killer B's not playing, so we're going in with Landry Jones, DeAngelo/Toussaint, and the scrap pile of receivers.

This game may be closer than we think.

20-14 Steelers.

Game will be tied....3-3 late in the 4th. We will be forced to punt with under 30 seconds left. The punt is downed at the Cleveland 2 yard line. Then in a WILD scramble....RGIII is SACKED in the end zone by Week 17 " Scrub " MVP...Jarvis Jones!!! :yay3::nw:

Steelers WIN....5-3 :tt03::tt03:

Browns talk about Deebo, Tomlin, ABPosted 3 hours ago

The Browns give their take on the Steelers ahead of Sunday's game.

There might not be a lot on the line as far as the postseason goes when the Steelers and Browns meet Sunday at Heinz Field, but there still is plenty of respect both teams have for each other.

And that begins with the head coaches. Browns Coach Hue Jackson sang the praises of Coach Mike Tomlin, who was recently criticized by Terry Bradshaw.

“He is a great coach,” said Jackson. “I have nothing but the utmost respect for Mike. He is one of the best, if not the best coach, in the National Football League. He is one of the best at what he does. Everybody has their opinion of how they see people. But I know what we in football really think of Mike Tomlin.”

Jackson also is a fan of James Harrison (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/james-harrison/f955db12-de79-47a3-9c61-d50c2583d49b/), who he worked with while both were with the Bengals, and like many others agrees that he is defying Father Time.

“He is not 38. There is no way,” said Jackson. “He is playing his tail off. I have a lot of respect for James. Love the guy. He is a tremendous competitor, a tremendous worker. He epitomizes what they do there in Pittsburgh. He is bluecollar. He is self-made. Every good thing you can say about a football player, James Harrison has.”

Rhythm, a step, no excuse

A first glance at what the three Steelers' coordinators are talking about this week.

Each week Steelers’ defensive coordinator Keith Butler, offensive coordinator Todd Haley and special teams coordinator Danny Smith share their insight in exclusive interviews that can be heard on SNR every Thursday beginning at 12 noon.

This version of Coordinators Corner will give you a sneak peak of what to expect each week, but this just touches the surface. Read what they have to say, but take my advice, listen every Thursday at 12 noon for the full interviews or check back there later in the day for the archived versions. It will be worth your time.

Stay in rhythm: The Steelers take on the Browns on Sunday in a game that has no impact on the postseason, but a game that the Steelers want to win to keep the rhythm going headed into the postseason and extend their winning streak to seven.

“I think you try to stay in rhythm as a team,” said defensive coordinator Keith Butler. “We’ll see how the game goes. We’re going to try and win the game. We are not out there just to play the game, we are out there to win the game. We want to make sure we get through the game, win the game, and look forward to next week.”

I think they will still win as not only is Cleveland still an awful team but they got their emotional win last week. The odds of them getting up for this game after an emotional high from last week I think is miniscule

Seems to have struck a nerve with the players. Good - hope this motivates them to kick ass in the postseason. Another Lombardi Trophy will go a long way towards shutting Tomlin's naysayers up.

The super bowl is at FOX this year too, so it would be amazing to see Terry Bradshaw with Mike Tomlin on the podium!

That is what I'm waiting for. I was waiting for Terry/Ben at the end of XLV but we know how that game turned out.

This time would be like Pete Rozelle/Al Davis trophy presentation at the end of the 83 season.:hockeyfight::pop2:

I was hoping for Goodell/Harrison after that one. That was the same season that Harrison was made the league's poster boy for late/illegal hits.

From this spot in the playoffs as the 3 seed, I can smell it already. Sniff.

The real question here is this:

If the Steelers lose this meaningless game because their winning record made this game meaningless.....does Tomlin still get blamed for resting players and criticized for losing to an inferior team and have it held against him until the end of time?

That was our section, I'm down a few rows on the right side of the pic. It was also the "family" section for the Steelers as many players came over to get their kids after the game.
