Louis Lipps loved playing for the Steelers, and still remains in Pittsburgh.

Legends Series: Louis Lipps
Wide Receiver
1984-91

To this day, when Louis Lipps is out and about around Steelers fans, he hears the old familiar cheer. ‘Louuuuu,’ fans will yell, sometimes just passing him on the street, sometimes on the way into Heinz Field, just about anywhere he still hears it.

But nothing, absolutely nothing, compared to hearing it at Three Rivers Stadium when he made a big reception.

We fans love him too and as a player he was one of the few bright spots we had in the 80's. Guy was talented and imagine how Brown would feel trying to catch passes from Mark Malone and Bubby Brister lol. Mark Malone was so awful and worse Steeler QB I have ever seen and his best wr he had held the last name Turf.

It's too bad he had the chronic hamstring problem.

It's too bad he had the chronic hamstring problem. You would to trying to dive for passes 10 yards short in the turf from Malone. Lipps was one of the most underrated Steelers in my opinion.

I still have nightmares about Malone. Gawd, did that guy SUCK. Worse yet, he's also the main reason (along with the cocaine rumors) that Noll passed on Marino in the '83 draft. :frusty:

Also sucked rooting for a qb that couldn't throw better then 6th grade girl that just got her first period.

Ugh...Mark Malone...I hated him. The only players I've ever hated more than him are Sean Mahan, Rishard Mendenhall and Isaac Redman.

http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x211/gatsukass/selleckmalone.jpg They always would say that but looking at the pics you can tell one is a movie star and the other looks like a sport announcer at best.
