They thrashed Oakland effortlessly today. They looked complete, certainly better than we did.

It's going to be very difficult. Even with Troy and the inspired play of the D.

He already made left-handed comments about how "dangerous" Dixon is with his running ability. Bet they don't stomp on a TT though.

We will have to play better to beat the Titans. However, if we're 2-2 going into the bye, I won't be too upset. Halfway there.

As long as we beat the Bucs, I got tickets to go with my Girlfriend.

I am concerned with the heat and having to chase Johnson & Young all over the place. This may be a game where you cant be conservative and manage and instead take some chances with DD.

I'm not sold on Young, if we can keep him in the pocket and make him beat us with his arm then i'm confident our D-fense can rattle his cage and get some sacks and force some bad throws. That might be what there thinking about Dixon as well.

Eh I think our defense will be able to keep Young and Johnson in check, and I think that forcing Young to win with his arms is doom for the Titans so Im not worried, I think if we can limit turnovers on offense we will be fine!

As long as our defense goes into that game healthy, I'm not worried about the Titans.
Dixon got his "first start this season" hump off of his back and he will be more settled down. IMO

It's hard to read them after just one game, especially considering who they were up against. Tennessee looked dominant on the line, but they were playing Oakland.

Johnson is all speed and agility so he won't run on us. Young will easily be shut down by the defense

BUT, they are still a very good team all around, their defense is pretty good, and even better with derrick morgan there. The offense will have to play WAY better than today to beat them

I predict another defensive battle. Neither dixon nor young will have much going

Its gonna be a difficult game.

The steelers have always been misery against the Titans, especially @ Tennessee.

The steelers were 1-7 at Tennessee in their last 8 games.

I know everyone's disappointed at the offensive output today, but the Falcons have really revamped their defense. A lot of people predicted a low scoring game for a reason. 3 points to analyze in this matchup:

1) Kroy Bierman is one of the most underrated defensive ends in the league. John Abraham is one of the better DE's in the league. Peria Jerry is a 1st round talent if it weren't for his injury-proneness. Lofton had a 133 tackle campaign last year and Pat Kirwan says he's going to join the ranks of the elite MLB's. Mike Peterson was the best player on the Jaguars for a decade before he came to Atlanta. During the game, the analysts talked about all the praise Safety Decoud has been getting. Dunta Robinson was the biggest name in free agency for defensive backs, and the Falcons nabbed him. This is going to be a pretty good defense fellas, not the vanilla defense that the Falcons have always had.

2) OPINION ALERT: I think the Titan's defense will be a little bit better. They looked phenomenal against a crapshoot offense, and we're more than that, with or without Dixon. We're far superior to the Raiders at every offensive position, except QB i guess.

3) Matt Ryan is way better than Vince Young, and we held up against Ryan. As long as control Chris Johnson, which is a pretty tall order, (but we've done a decent job the last two times against the titans) Young is gonna be slingin' it, and he WILL make mistakes lol. Their receiving corp is mismatched against our 2ndary. WOW that last part felt really weird to say.

Tough game for sure, not for the faint of heart.

Troy had the greatest first half I've ever seen against the titans last season. Hopefully he'll repeat his performance for a full game.

Anyone know the status on Hampton?

it is always tough in nashville for us. I hope DD has a better game. The D shut down turner today and he is a hell of a back, so do not fear CJ at all, plus i think our d will still have a chip on their shoulders about the TT stomp game and CJ taunting troy as he scores.

Interesting factoid:
As dominant as Tennessee appeared, they actually got 10 less yards than we did on offense and allowed only 9 less yards on defense. Against Oakland.

This. ^^

To beat the Titans, the Steelers will have to neutralize CJ, which is no easy task as the guy is a beast and the best RB in the league imho. I haven't heard anything on Big Snack's injury and I  he will be in the lineup next weekend because if he isn't, it may be a long day.

I'm not worried about Young. He'll be running for his life most of the day with Harrison and Wood in his face on just about every pass attempt. If we can keep CJ under 100 yards and out of the EZ and Dennis & Co. can get into the EZ at least a couple of times, I think we have a good shot at winning.

Hampton pulled a hammy - Wolf announced it during the radio broadcast yesterday. So he more than likely will not be in the lineup next week and will probably miss a couple of weeks.

Let the DEFENSE loose and see what happens. I believe Dixon will be better this week, and he'll pull out a W.

I believe that Eason and Ziggy can hold their own while Big Snack recovers.

This game will need to be a true smash mouth game by the Steelers. Most likely, our running game will take a long time to get going, but we can't abandon it early, we must stick with it and wear out that D-line for the end of the game. I don't think they have anyone that can cover Wallace on a deep route, so we need to hit that at some point again, to drop the secondary back out of the box. Please hit him in stride, one time, that's all I ask.

Our D will focus on stuffing the run and putting Taylor and McFadden on islands, that's my guess. Our CBs will have to play lights out. Young has the same type of ability as Ben when it comes to extending plays with his feet. He's no Vick, and isn't going to gash us, but he will have longer than 4 seconds on most pass plays the way he rolls out of the pocket and keeps plays alive. Our Secondary has to be solid on every single play.

If Hampton is out, then Hoke and Hood have to step up and bottle up that interior, we can't allow that seem in the middle for CJ to run through, he'd be in the secondary in 2 seconds if he gets past the first level. I hate to say it, but we have to bounce him outside where Troy and Clark can get good angles on making tackles on him. Plus, Timmons should be fast enough to get to the outside to make those tackles as well.

Jeff Reed can NOT miss a single field goal. We will need every point possible to pull out this win. It is a huge game, an AFC Game, that could come into play later on for tie breakers. No one is going to pick us for this game, again, no one "expects" the Steelers to win this game. Sure, some talking head will take the Steelers as their "surprise pick" but really, no body will put money on us this weekend. And that is how it is going to be as long as Ben is not in the huddle. Huge game, the first week was a great team win, as Hines and Tomlin both said over and over again after the game, but this will show the true grit of our team. On the road, against a "good" team, when no one thinks you can do it.

This is a real test. Hopefully, or Defense is up to the challenge and our running game can keep going forward and moving the sticks. Dixon will have to be a lot better, no more at the feet passes and no more interceptions. Turnovers will kill us in this game, can't turn it over at all. Best way to keep CJ out of the endzone with big runs is to keep the ball out of the Teeneessee offense's hand and play ball control offense, eating yards, eating clock, keep him on the sidelines and unable to get his feet going.

very tough game coming up. We can do it, but we have to play flawlessly.

We'll get a win. I think they will open things up a bit more for DD this week...... I can only see the defense getting better.
