Uh, maybe I posted this too early but I don't know what is going on. Kaboly is tweeting they aren't supposed to report anything at practice.

Well, of course he was. Our secondary is cursed because we ran TP43 to retirement.

In Tomlin speak this means Gilbert is probably dead

We can breathe a sigh of relief: His injury is not expected to be serious

I'm really glad that this ended up not being anything serious. I've got hope that Gilbert is going to blossom in our system.

He had a decent showing against KC, so hes already made progress.

This isn't the offseason any longer, lol.

I have a really good feeling about him. I'm not sure why, but my gut tells me that this might be one of those Ryan Clark/Kevin Greene type of free agency singings (a guy thought to be too old/a bust... that turns into a rock-solid starter).

For what they gave up for him, even if he becomes quality depth it would be well worth the investment.

You're right though. This kid has a ton of physical talent. He's not a bad guy by all accounts. He just needs some structure around him and a belief in what he's doing. I believe he will definitely find that in Pittsburgh. If he can be developed into the best possible player he can be while here, they will have made one of the best trades in memory....particularly when it is addressing a position of need or weakness on a team trying to win super bowls.

These are the types of moves teams make that win super bowls if they work out.

Exactly. Even if he ends up being a solid #4 CB, it was worth that pick.

But, I think he'll be a solid #3 (if not #2). Burns, Golson, Gilbert.

I read somewhere that Gilbert's high school coach lambasted the Browns. The coach said some thing to the effect that Gilbert was one of the best students that he had ever taught, but that Gilbert did not like talking to people (media).
