What a pity Vontaze Burfict won’t be joining us today at Heinz Field; I mean how is David DeCastro supposed to make pancakes without the main ingredient?
Oh I’m sorry. That’s not the kind of question we’re supposed to be pondering here 253 days later. Because everything’s normal. Everything’s lovely. Everything’s completely detached from the recent Steelers-Bengals conflagrations that earned players and non-players alike (looking at you Joey Porter) more than $200,000 in fines over three episodes last season.
Only Burfict, the All-Lunatic Bengals linebacker, earned a suspension that stretches clear to next week for his Tiger-poisoning antics in the final minutes of January’s playoff game in Cincinnati, prior to which he told DeCastro to “watch your knees,” only to have the All-Pro Steelers guard put him flat on his back on the very next play.
Then Burfict spat in his face...........
