View Full Version : Cockrell with 2 Int's against 1st team offense in practice

Sounds like Cockrell is doing well so far in practices. according the BSPN article, he had 2 INT's against the #1 offense and one covering AB. Hoping that will roll over into the year and he will be the surprise player of this season for our defense. If he can lock down one CB position across from either Gay or Burns I will feel much better. Even more so if Gay can move back to the slot and Burns can get over the top help from a S because we can leave his side mostly alone for S help.

I honestly think Cockrell and W. Allen were better than we thought. For a good part of last year, the other members of the secondary had to compensate for Blake's historically bad play, and Allen had to babysit him outright - which meant being in a lot of bad matchups and taking a lot of bad chances that he didn't in the past, which ultimately cost him his job. Glad to see the improvement, it could take the hurt off not having our draft picks ready ...
