The Lions and Steelers practiced together on Tuesday, which meant that Lions cornerback Darius Slay got a chance to match up against Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Slay’s day ended with the cornerback saying he needs to do a better job when the teams do more joint work on Wednesday. Brown got the best of Slay in a variety of settings, including three straight go routes that led to a pair of touchdowns for the Steelers wideout and a post route that led Brown to tell the Steelers sideline that he was “killing” Slay. Slay didn’t disagree with that assessment when he spoke to reporters after practice.

“Oh man, the first one I said I expected that for the crowd, that was cool,” Slay said, via the Detroit Free Press. “But three of them in a row I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, I’m already fitting to die here.’ Like, ‘Come on, you’re going to run another deep route?’ He said, ‘I’m going deep all day Slay.’ I said, ‘No you cannot. I’m not fitting to go with you more today. Not today.’ He tried to kill me, man.”

It's a good thing he's not running for public office. The press would take him literally. :coffee:

Antonio Brown nearly gets ejected from Steelers-Lions joint practice

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown drew the ire of an NFL official at a joint practice with the Lions Wednesday, almost earning himself an ejection.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Brown appeared frustrated after having been double-teamed by Lions defenders through the practice. On the play that almost got him booted, he went up for a long pass in the end zone from backup quarterback Landry Jones. NFL field judge Terry Brown, who officiated the practice, called the pass incomplete; Brown, who tied for the league lead with 136 receptions last year, argued the call, saying it should have been a penalty.

..."We're here to enforce the rules,” Terry Brown said afterward, via the Tribune-Review. “This is their practice. He will do it here and get away with it. But if he thinks he can do that and get away with it in a game, he's got another thing coming. I'm still going to report it to the league.”

The official clearly seemed on the verge of tossing Brown, telling Steelers receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey the team “better get (Antonio Brown) under control or I'm going to throw him out. He's not going to push me; I'm a veteran, 11 years. … I'm not going to tolerate it."

This Terry Brown sounds like a real piece of work. "I'm a veteran." Really? Seems to me a "veteran" official would have much thicker skin, especially during a preseason PRACTICE session. And why the hell gripe to one of AB's teammates about it as opposed to one of the coaches? And on top of all of it, he threatens to go to the league office to whine about it too? "WAAAHHH! I'm gonna go tell Roger! WAAAHHH!" :cry02:

What an absolute douche. I hope we don't draw this tool's crew when the games actually start to count. :coffee:
