Which players are having a good camp. The names I have seen praised the most are Coates, Hargrave and Chickillo. How great would it be to have these three either earning starting spots or receiving a good amount of playing time? I know it's no secret on here that I want J. Jones relegated to the bench so I am Chickillo keeps gaining steam throughout pre-season.

Coates is a big need with the loss of Bryant. If Coates turns out to be a big time player they can get rid of Bryant when his contract expires. Or maybe he will get banned from the NFL for life.

I hear Hargrave has been pretty much unstoppable so far. I realize it's just camp, but it's a good sign. I don't think he has faced DeCastro or many of the starters yet. I am interested in seeing DeCastro vs. Hargrave.

Chickillo seems to have grown leaps and bounds.

Are there any other players having a good camp? Shazier was until he got nicked up. I hope this guy can stay healthy. The secondary is going to need the front seven to work miracles.

Now not to be negative, but it is just as informative to hear which players are having a poor camp. From the looks of things it appears Burns is having a horrible camp. I don't see him playing much at all this entire season, barring injuries. Hopefully he can start turning things around. I haven't heard much on J. Jones. Anyone know how he is doing? Did he sprain his labia again?;) Just joking.......sort of.

Eli Rogers has a very good camp and he should make the team.

Landry Jones also has a good camp.

I forgot about Rogers.

Skinny as in fit or as weak?

Slimmer and fit. You could really notice the difference just looking at him. He walked right past us and I didn't even recognise him until I saw his face.

You could see a difference in Bud Dupree's body as well. Not as bulky.

And I was thinking that was one of our biggest concerns.

And I was thinking that was one of our biggest concerns.

Well it was a logical assumption given the previous state of our DL and the fact that the guys we added at the back end were basically unknowns. But remember how we were saying last year how Cam Thomas was SO BAD that any random dingbat off the street would probably be an improvement? I guess that was actually right. We just need some backups who are halfway competent and not going to get abused every time they're on the field. Then we don't have last year's depth problem.

Just letting Dirty Dick go is addition by subtraction.

Am thinking it will be the same with Blake. And since he was a starter and not a backup, just imagine the difference there.

Can't wait to see his burst since he lost some pounds. He was already a freak athlete at 270lb, now he's 250lb...

Matakevich seems to be doing well in the LB vs RB drills and pass rushing drills, but is struggling in coverage.

Good thread.

I search for it/open it up daily (despite not being able to post much).

Thank you.

It's hard for me to post much either. I try to spend more time with my daughter. So instead posting I am playing My Little Pony with her.

I haven't heard many positives on the secondary.

He is relatively slow so not sure how much improvement we are going to see in coverage.

That. Is. Awesome. I can relate 100%.

SECONDARY:
Alas, true. That said, the front seven seems to be developing nicely... and (IMO) the best way to improve a pass defense is with a solid pass rush.

Q: Who has been the most impressive offensive player and defensive player in camp so far?

Gerry Dulac: Offense: Sammie Coates, Eli Rogers and, of course, Ben. Defense: Javon Hargrave, Sean Davis, Anthony Chickillo, not to mention 97, 91, 50. Matakevich is another. He will be a tough cut. I think he will make the team. And he should

It says Stingily is 5% body fat at 6', 1" 215lbs. That would mean he is on steroids. He is probably around 15% body fat. Not that it has anything to do with this thread or the informative article you posted : )
