James Harrison's agent Bill Parise said the NFL may -- or may not -- get to interview his client in connection to a media report that linked them to the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

USA Today reported the league will interview Harrison, Green Bay linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers the day their respective training camps open next month. All were cited in a report by Al-Jazeera in December linking them to performance-enhancing drugs.

The league's letter also said it will interview free-agent defensive lineman Mike Neal, but made no mention of retired quarterback Peyton Manning.
The league's letter, as published by USA Today, scolds the union because it hasn't responded to attempts over the past three months to set up interviews.......

Al-Jazeera = propaganda wing/mouthpiece for Al-Qaeda/ISIS/Muslim Brotherhood/radical-Islam-in-general = ZERO credibility. :coffee:

I imagine this is still only getting play because of Manning's name being mentioned and Brady Fangirl Nation's nonstop whining and crying about it (http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/threads/nfl-players-delaying-the-ped-report-from-al-jazeera.1130903/).

Funny, when this new broke LAST YEAR the NFL didn't seem too interested in interviewing Manning, but now that he has retired . . .

The fucking red, white and blue P-Word fans praising an Al-Jazeera article is one of the greatest contradictions/jokes of all time, and only gives me more to laugh at.

Agreed. In their little world, there's absolutely no way Brady could have possibly had anything to do with equipment tampering despite the evidence:

19 January 2015

At 7.04am the morning after the AFC Championship Game, Jastremski accessed the Pro Football Talk story that had been posted at 2.19am regarding the NFL’s investigation of the deflation issue. At 7.25am after an exchange of texts with Schoenfeld, Jastremski sent the following text to Brady:

Jastremski (7:25:18am): Call me when you get a second

Brady called Jastremski less than a minute later and they spoke for 13 minutes, four seconds. Although he told NFL security investigators on 20 January that he’d not discussed the deflation issue with anyone other than McNally, Jastremski told investigators in February that he discussed the issue with Brady during this call. Jastremski added this was “probably” the only conversation he had with Brady, by phone or in person, addressing the deflation issue.

Approximately two and a half hours after that phone call, Brady followed up with Jastremsky by text message:

Brady (9:51:54am): You good Jonny boy?

Jastremski (9:53:27am): Still nervous; so far so good though. I‟ll be alright

Brady (9:54:16am): You didn’t do anything wrong bud.

Jastremski (9:55:01am): I know; I’ll be all good

When interviewed by investigators, Brady recalled that Jastremski had been worried because he was responsible for the preparation of game balls. Brady said he believed Jastremski would be asked a lot of questions by the organization and sent these messages to show his support. The exchange continued one hour later:

Jastremski (10:54:40am): FYI...Dave will be picking your brain later about it. He’s not accusing me, or anyone...trying to get to bottom of it. He knows it’s unrealistic you did it yourself...

Jastremski (10:55:32am): Just a heads up

Brady (10:59:32am): No worries bud. We are all good

Yep, nothing at all suspicious or possibly incriminating about any of those exchanges. We're obviously all just blinded by our jealousy and hatred. :coffee:

Yet the Patsfan dittoheads treat a single-sourced account of Manning and PEDs from a mouthpiece for radical Islamic terrorists (further, an account that the single source has since recanted, no less) as the gospel. Isn't cognitive dissonance wonderful?

Not to mention that their neverending butthurt over Peyton Manning is almost as laughable as it is pathetic.

The players union is right to not allow the league to badger the players over such a thinly sourced largely discredited story. You need more than discredited hearsay to open an investigation.

Yep. This doesn't fall under the player conduct policy where Goodell can basically do whatever he damn well pleases. This falls instead under the NFL drug policy, which has very strictly defined protocols that need to be followed.

The collectively bargained drug policy allows for the NFL to discipline players “found through sufficient credible documented evidence … to have used, possessed or distributed performance-enhancing substances,” even if they didn’t fail a test or run afoul of the law.

A footnote says “sufficient credible evidence includes but is not limited to: criminal convictions or plea arrangements; admissions, declarations, affidavits, authenticated witness statements, corroborated law enforcement reports or testimony in legal proceedings; authenticated banking, telephone, medical or pharmacy records; or credible information obtained from Players who provide assistance pursuant to Section 10 of the Policy.”

The following simply doesn't qualify as sufficent or credible documented evidence, particularly from a source that is as dubious as Al-Jazeera to begin with:

The allegations were made by Charlie Sly, a former anti-aging clinic intern who was secretly videotaped as part of the Al-Jazeera documentary. Sly has since recanted, but NFL officials, including Commissioner Roger Goodell, have vowed to pursue the matter.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2016/06/24/nfl-investigation-al-jazeera-peds/86336984/

The NFLPA is absolutely right to stonewall on this. And if I'm Harrison (or any of the other players targeted in this), I'm lawyering up and refusing to answer any questions or cooperate in any way with Goodell's goon squad.

“And so the NFLPA sent them a letter (earlier this month) basically saying, ‘Tell us what your reason is because we don't think there is one,' '' Parise said. “And the letter (that became public today) from the NFL is the response to that letter. Basically what they're saying is, ‘We don't have to tell you (why), and we're going to interview them anyway.'

Typical Goodell megalomania. Again, this shit doesn't fly under the league's drug policy.

Pretty clear they don't like Harrison and this is just another way for them to give him flak for not going with Gotohell's program. Why else would they interview him based off of singular allegations from a joke pretending to be news whose only source recanted allegations

If Roger Goodell was on fire and James Harrison had to piss to put him out, he wouldn’t do it...

Yep, this is B.S. Al-Jazerra is a joke news source for anything.

However, can you imagine the sissy NFL dude who has to interview James "Deebo" Harrison face to face?

That is just a comical scenario.

The main issue is PEDs are being used by, my personal opinion, the majority of the vets. There are loopholes and masks they all know about and most employ. Not accusing James, or Payton, or anyone else, just saying that I expect it. Just because a guy wears our jersey and has been a backbone player for us, does not automatically make him an exception. If one of our players is caught using, then he should get suspended. Same for every other player in the league. I hope James is clean and is truly just the unnatural freak of an athlete we all believe he is. But if he is using PEDs, he deserves what's coming. And those of us that do truly care about the players themselves understand what I'm talking about.

James Harrison isn't one to bite his tongue, and he certainly isn't holding back in regards to the news of the NFL investigation into a recanted report on PED use midway through the 2015 season.

Follow the Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker on social media for any amount of time, and you know he doesn't mince words. He doesn't hold back with his opinions on parenting, working out and especially when the NFL wants to investigate a recanted report which had the names of Harrison, Peyton Manning, Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers all as members potentially connected to Performance Enhancing Drug (PED) use.

Yesterday, Harrison't agent chimed in regarding the situation, but Sunday evening Harrison took to Instagram to show documents both from the NFL and NFLPA regarding the matter. See what Harrison had to say via social media, and as you can guess...he isn't happy.

This situation is far from over, but the battle between Harrison, and the NFLPA, vs. the NFL could be a long, drawn out battle leading into training camp.
