The Steelers (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/pit/pittsburgh-steelers)' Maurkice Pouncey (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13250/maurkice-pouncey) is relieved to be back on the field after a horrific 2015 season that saw the Pro Bowl center undergo six surgical procedures and a skin graft, he told ESPN.

Pouncey broke his left fibula in the preseason when Green Bay Packers (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/gb/green-bay-packers) safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/16735/ha-ha-clinton-dix) fell onto the back of his leg. Packers receiver Jordy Nelson (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11270/jordy-nelson) also tore his anterior cruciate ligament in that Aug. 23 game.

Pouncey suffered a setback in October. The surgical wound didn't close properly, resulting in a staph infection.

"It was scary," Pouncey said. "I don't want that on my worst enemy."

Pouncey has recovered from the injury and fully participated in offseason workouts, even as the coaching staff has urged him to take days off.....

Hope he is 100%. Fingers crossed.

I had a staph infection on my forearm in 10th grade at the state tournament in wrestling and the refs examine everyone at weigh ins for this.

So my coach taped my forearm and I weighed in buck naked with a huge taped up forearm!

Although I don't think they would have noticed anyway as my enormous "package" normally attracts all the attention.

If he cannot stay on the field his contract needs adjusting for those who can.

We at least need to get a more capable backup. Wallace is not very good.

In his defense, Wallace does play hard even after the whistle...

The groins of defensive linemen throughout the NFL quietly celebrate the return of Pouncey.
