The most memorable victories at Heinz Field

Last season marked the 15th anniversary of the opening of Heinz Field. While difficult to believe, the once brand new, state of the art football stadium is now half as old as Three Rivers Stadium was when it was imploded in 2001.

As with Three Rivers Stadium, Heinz Field has also been the site of some of the greatest games in Steelers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/pittsburgh-steelers) history. As the organization embarks on its next fifteen years at Heinz Field, here's a look back at some of the most memorable Steelers victories during the stadium's first fifteen years.


Here's my top ten list:


10. 2004: Steelers 34 Patriots (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/new-england-patriots) 20


The Steelers were in the midst of a 15-1 regular season. At the midway point, they met the hated Patriots. The Steelers thumped them (a rare occurrence these last fifteen years) and, in the process, ended the Patriots 21 game winning streak (http://espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=241031023). Deshea Townsend (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1639/deshea-townsend) returned a Tom Brady (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1653/tom-brady) interception 39 yards for a touchdown, and rookie Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1630/ben-roethlisberger) connected with Plaxico Burress (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2208/plaxico-burress) on a 47 yard touchdown bomb.

Tommy Maddox's only moment of glory, the playoff game vs the Stains in 2002-03 season.

Great comeback.
ARE fumbles early but comes back with a Punt return for a TD to keep the Steelers in the game.

I believe this was the same day as the 49ers/Giants wild (card) playoff game that was even crazier.

Riveting football that day.

Dolphins vs Steelers in 2007 not deserve to be in this list.Seriously, the dolphins were 0-10 before the game and the steelers win only 3-0 !!!! I know the weather was atrocious, but this win was so ugly!

The game against the Colts in 2014 deserves to be in this list....Not only the Steelers scored 51 points with over 500 passing yards and 6 TD pass, I think this game was a big turning point for the Steelers.Before this game, the Steelers were not very good but since that game, the Steelers have an identity.
