The Phil Kessel narrative continued to rewrite itself Wednesday night.

Kessel recorded his 15th and 16th points of the postseason in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals to lead the Penguins to a 4-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.


He set up the Penguins first goal with 10 seconds to play in the second period, then scored in the third as the Carl Hagelin-Nick Bonino-Kessel line produced yet again.


“It’s a lot of fun. This is the best time of year, you know. It’s enjoyable,” said Kessel. “Obviously it was a big win for us [last night] now we’ve just got to keep going.”


Kessel’s Toronto Maple Leafs never made it this far in the playoffs on his watch. Neither did his Boston Bruins, the team that drafted him, and where he began his career..............

Fun fact: up here in Canada Pierre Maguire is one of the most hated people in the country. Canadian hockey fans almost unanimously hate Maguire and dince most of us are hockey fans...
