Since the rule is for unsportsmanlike conduct, it'll probably be someone celebrating a touchdown or a sack, or some dumbass taunting penalty. If they wanted to improve "player safety" (quotes emphasized) they were thinking of unnecessary roughness. Typical of the rule-crazy Lawyerball mentality.

Only specific unsportsmanlike conduct penalties apply under this rule. I'm sure that celebration penalties will not be among them.

It's going to be a WR for something stupid like a block in the back and then tossing the ball at an opponent or something silly. Maybe Steve Smith Sr.

I voted Burfict simply because after that playoff game he now has a reputation and the refs *SHOULD* be quick to flag him even if it's an iffy call to begin with.

And this isn't going to apply to celebrations and taunting, I read that it's going to be more for flagrant stuff - extremely late hits, hits obvious intended to injure, fighting.

Yep. I'm expecting a rash of really stupid ejections simply because it will be a new "point of emphasis."

Maybe whoever wants off on Christmas Day?
