And this is why the Browns suck.
Couldn't they get Bernie Kosar off the couch?

Well, at least they didn't have to spend three first-round draft picks on a QB who turned out to be a bust. Instead they got to spend them on many different quarterbacks who all turned out to be busts.

I'll give him 6 games before he re-injures his knee and the Clowns are stuck with Josh McCown

RG3 now will never be elite.
Can't blame the Browns for ending his career, it's already over.

So....... what SHOULD they do? Draft Wentz, Goff, Lynch? Or.... concentrate on O and D line? The lines is where I would put my draft picks. QB is not even a worry at this point. RG3 will be servicable until they build their team in the next few years.
It's cool to make fun.... I get it, but, if they are totally rebuilding, RG3 makes sense.

Yes. Absolutely. That's EXACTLY what we do. Win Super Bowls and make fun of the Browns in the off season.
I think they still draft a QB high in this draft. Maybe not at 2, but if they trade back to spot 22, it's guaranteed.

He might be the only even willing to go there. Nobody else doesn't want to go. And they seem to be the only one team with real interest. :chuckle:

The joke is that the Browns go into a new "complete rebuilding mode" every 2 years. :chuckle:

They could've just stuck with McCown and drafted Wentz. McCown played pretty well for them last year.
The Browns HAD one of the best OLs in the NFL but now all they've got left is Thomas. They screwed that up just like everything else.
They will continue to suck year after year, despite always getting high draft picks.

I would've taken the Browns O-Line over Pittsburghs any day for the last few seasons. That O-Line with Munchak as coach? Ridiculous. But........so goes the Browns...

Yea. I know lots of Browns fans. None of them are happy...lol. I don't blame them, but if you're going to blow the whole thing up and start over, why wouldn't you just sign any QB that is willing to play until there is a foundation established. Then go and find your QB. It seems foolish to me to waste first round money on a QB that won't really be needed for at least a couple of years.

They do. My point was that they SHOULD have just stuck with him and drafted a QB instead of signing RGIII. McCown has played better recently than RGIII and he could've been their starter until the rookie was ready to take over. RGIII is not the answer.

That was my thinking as well. Worst possible division for RGIII to play in. AFC West would have been a close second.
He's lucky as hell Harrison is 37 and splitting snaps with that pylon Jarvis. Not so lucky about Tuitt and Heyward with hopefully an emerging Dupree.
I hope Burfict doesn't go for his legs but he probably will. **** Burfict.

If I was the Browns I would have taken Goff. If Wentz was there at 2 then I would have traded down or taken Laremy Tunsil (Joe Thomas is getting old) or Jalen Ramsey.
Someone made a comparison of Goff to Alex Smith and I agree based on the trajectory of their passes and the quick release. Goff actually takes shots down the field though which is so important but which Alex Smith will not do.
That's Goff's ceiling I think... an Alex Smith who takes shots and is a fringe top 10 QB. I don't think he will be a perennial Pro Bowler certainly not with the talent the Rams currently have on offense and that coach.
I think Wentz will bust. The jump in competition will be huge for him and he lobs balls as if he has no arm strength at all. Yes he can throw 80 yards when coaches tell him to on a practice field but his tendency is to throw 30 yard passes with touch. Wentz throws rainbows. Most succesful NFL QBs either zip passes in or have a very quick release and throw short routes. NFL DBs are going to locate Wentz' passes in the air over and over. He will have to change his whole style.

Hoyer going 10-6 on a team that was otherwise 76-180 roughly is pretty telling.
Browns should build around a solid veteran QB rather than trying to draft flashy college players.
Manziel was never going to make it in the NFL. I would have bet my life that he would be a bust. I am shocked he made the jump from "worst QB ever" to "mediocre QB/possible journeyman backup" in one year. I would have been interested to see what he did in year 3. Apparently what he will be doing is a lot of partying.
Johnny Manziel is the best argument ever against "NFL executives are geniuses and casual fans are all ignorant laymen."
