Report: Ravens interested in Mike Wallace

The Ravens are interested in adding veteran wide receiver Mike Wallace “if the price is right,” NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala reported.

The Vikings released Wallace earlier this week after one season with the team because the price wasn’t right. He was due to make more than $11 million in 2016.

Wallace averaged 12.1 yards per reception last season, a career low. If Wallace, 29, can still stretch a defense, then he and the Ravens could make a good fit. The Ravens know Wallace well from his time with the Steelers, and in a thinning wide receiver market he’ll almost certainly get a look from multiple teams.

Last year’s Ravens’ first-round pick, Breshad Perriman, got hurt in training camp and missed the entire season, and Steve Smith will be 37 in May and is coming off a torn Achilles. Wallace would add speed and a veteran presence to a wide receiver depth chart that’s very much unsettled at this point.
