It looks like another 9-7 season

Peter King has already picked the Steelers to win the Super Bowl. That’s a mistake I made last year and one that won’t be repeated this year.

In 2009, I thought the Steelers had the goods to repeat. They had a franchise quarterback, the NFL’s stingiest, most relentless defense and the added incentive of trying to overtake the New England Patriots as the Team of the Decade.

Yet, they couldn’t even make the playoffs.

Well I guess we might as well pack it in and wait 'til next season since Mike Bires already has us out of the playoff hunt. Man, I was jacked about the start of the season too! I'm so shocked and despondent that the Steelers are going to suck this year, that I am going to go and sit in my closed garage with the car running. I mean, if a writer from the "Beaver County Times" says there is no hope, might as well shuffle off this mortal coil now. :sarcasm2: :jerkit:

:poop: on Mike Bires.

If healthy , I can't see why we can't finish at 11-5 .

Mike Bires is evidently the guy that you ask for advice and then do the opposite.
Perhaps he's trying some reverse psychology mojo thing?

I can see it being a little tough early on, we have a lot of rookies, and anyone that thinks Dixon=Ben are very mistaken IMO. I still think we will come though it alright.

I kinda got 11-5 stuck in my mind as well, but if it turns out 9-7 I still don't plan on missing a game. I am real excited about this year, just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.

Exactly, we had a good draft and filled some holes in the off season (as did Ben unfortunately).

Point is, if we stay healthy, our O-line performs and we don't lose our mojo in Q4, I also think we can go 11-5.

We lost A LOT of games we were winning in the 4th quarter last year...exact opposite of our Superbowl season.

I think we need "D" - (Steelerstrength) -as the Steelers strength & conditioning coach!...

If

(A lot of other teams can say that, too.)

Agreed.

Because of the parity, a key injury or two can make the difference between 6 & 10 and 10 & 6 for many teams.

THAT is what makes football so exciting imo.

11-5 just seems very much in sight this season. I don't buy into this media hype. If we did, then we shouldn't even play the season and just crown the Jets, Bengals, Cowboys or Patriots as Super Bowl champs right now.

I feel pretty good about 11-5. This team was shamed and humiliated last season...."unleashing hell" was only delayed to this season. Mike Bires can go pound salt!

Oh, no! Life is not worth living! The Steelers won't make the playoffs again! Mr. Bires said so! Pour me a nice glass of Bordeaux laced with arsenic. It's all over!:drama:

I pick us going to the SB every year, too. And, why not? I'm not a bookie. I look forward to a great season ahead every year and a great comeback a la 2005 if things start out rough. Why make watching your team play miserable from game #1?
