Injuries are the biggest issue with the Pro Bowl (http://www.nfl.com/probowl). In a sport in which injury is more inevitable than avoidable, players attempting to dodge getting hurt leads to a less-than-stellar product.

In Sunday's 49-27 blowout win by Team Irvin (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000630721/article/team-irvin-rolls-over-team-rice-in-pro-bowl), tight end Tyler Eifert (http://www.nfl.com/player/tylereifert/2540148/profile) couldn't avoid the dreaded Pro Bowl (http://www.nfl.com/probowl) injury.


The pass-catcher left early in the fourth quarter, had his left foot and leg iced and walked gingerly from the field, NFL Media's Steve Wyche reported.


After the game Eifert said initial tests didn't reveal a break in the foot, but the tight end left the stadium in a boot and plans to undergo further tests in Cincinnati to ensure it was just a bone bruise.............

He was another Irish that would have made a good transition from the Navy and Gold to the Black and Gold.
