The pairing of Peyton Manning vs. Ben Roethlisberger began 10 years ago with the promise it could be one for years to come.


They met in the old RCA Dome twice in the 2005 season. Round one went to Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, 26-7 in the regular season.

Round two went to Roethlisberger and the Steelers, 21-18, in a spectacular divisional playoff game seven weeks later.
Roethlisberger, 23, was in his second NFL season. Manning, 29, was in his eighth and already well established as a Hall of Fame candidate.


Big Ben vs. The Sheriff, it would be a duel for the ages, the start of a classic matchup among two of the NFL's best quarterbacks.


They have not met in the playoffs since...........

Why do writers need to mention the HoF every time Manning is mentioned in an article? The NFL is diluting the quality of the Hall with some of their latest inductees like the horse face mush mouth from Baltimore. They are turning it into the Pro Bowl and soon it will be irrelevant.
