Maybe it's an overreaction on my part, but this is the most atrocious half I've seen by a defense of my life....8/8 on 3rd down nearly 300 yards of offense in one half and 4 TD in the last four drives.I'm tired of seeing the other QB have the game of their lives against us.

+1. Bend but don't break only works if you allow FG not TD. This defense is broke. Too many games on tape and too many players that suck.

I have an even better suggestion. Get rid of the zone coverage scheme that the defensive backs are playing in because it doesn't work and put in a man coverage in. Then, start drafting football players who can play man coverage and who have some height.

Happy that the defense has been dominant in 2nd half, but I not want to see a performance like in the first half for the rest of the season!

Gotta give credit to Butler. That defense didn't even look the same unit in the 2nd half, and regardless of Tomlin saying they didn't change anything, they obviously adjusted the cushions, blitzing packages and flipped Blake for Boykin and Golden. Saw three safeties on 3rd down several times, with Golden at linebacker next to Shazier later in the game. Really great turnaround by that side of the ball.

Just finished watching the game. Impressive turn around but it never should have been in that situation. Both offense and defenses went into this game with the most horrendous game plans I have seen in a while.

You let a team that hasn't scored a TD in over 2 games score 4 straight.

That has been a problem all season long.

On the flip side, there isn't a defense in the league that can keep this offense under 30 when they aren't allowed to mug our receivers all day (see: Seattle game. And even then, they scored 30 against Seattle.)

Even when they started teaching the players this coverage in the offseason, I was saying they should have have gotten rid of it. Zone coverage only seems to work in college basketball.

I think you guys must be egging me on now, but if you're actually really seriously blaming that whole first half on the handful of plays Blake was in on then you really do need help. Still, the truth is evident to some people:

Which is still what I think our biggest problem has been all year, and I will admit that Boykin is a better slot CB than Gay, who should definitely be playing on the outside. As far as Cockrell or Blake playing the opposite side CB, well this is just a crap shoot as far as I'm concerned, and it really doesn't matter who you put over there, because they both seem to give up the same amount of catches or TDs. Maybe the team hates Blake as much as you guys do, and that's why they appear to improve when he's not playing?
