Fined multiple times. Good! He should've been suspended for having so many infractions in one game.

It's hard for me to tell since I am in Wisconsin right now, but has hell frozen over?

I take back my earlier post. I still hate Goodell, but I will take that post back.

Now you would think that would be common sense.

You're right. A harsher penalty like a suspension will do more than a fine would.

Sorry...didn't mean to insert common sense into this...

If Deebo did this, he would have been forced to go to the White House.

Goodhell would have someone wreck Deebo's motorcycle

Goodhell would have given Deebo's sons particpation trophies

Probably all the hell raised is what caused the NFL's move. Why would Barfess appeal...after all *its football* Thats how he responded to Ben's comment when Ben calling him out on the low hit.

This makes a ton more sense.

Like I said, I have no problems with Brown being fined for the slapfight, or DeCastro being fined for yanking on a guy's facemask in the bottom of a pile, or even Gay's over-the-top celebration as it continued on, and on, and on. What I DID have a problem with, was Burfict not being fined. Green not getting a fine for booting the ball into the stands. Etc.

Of course, Burfict alone has now even the score in the fine column, so . . .

I threatened the NFL that I would take action on my own if they didn't.

Obviously, the NFL came to their senses before I needed to whup Burfict on my own.

Can you support a Steeler player who deliberately tried to twist the ankle of a opposing team's player - obviously with the hope that the player suffers an injury? I couldn't. And that is the Steeler way - play hard and hit hard but we would never tolerate anyone that would do something like that.

Well, this piece of shit, Burfict was fined twice last year for deliberately trying to twist the ankle of Cam Newton and Greg Olsen.

He's a piece of shit. Not the nice solid turd but the really smelly unformed turd in which you still recognize pieces of food such as corn kernals and collard greens. He is turd mixed with vomit that smells like rotten cheese. He is a walking piece of turd vomit shit and if a car hit him crossing the street, we should worry about how much damage there is on the car.

I also have lost all respect for all Bengal fans and the Bengal coaches. Marvin Lewis used to be a Steelers LB coach but has forgotten everything he has learned. He has sold his soul and will do anything for a playoff win. Well, he will never win a playoff game. And all Bengal fans will tolerate a low life such as Burfict just for a win. What's next - will they let him screw their daughters if he wants to? Of course they will.

Burfict is facing a collective penalty of close to $70,000 for three fines stemming from three plays during the Bengals (http://www.nfl.com/teams/cincinnatibengals/profile?team=CIN)' 33-20 loss (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2015121302/2015/REG14/steelers@bengals#menu=gameinfo%7CcontentId%3A0ap30 00000603276&tab=recap) to the Steelers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/pittsburghsteelers/profile?team=PIT) on Sunday.

So the original story that Burfuck wasn't going to be fined came about as a result of his agent saying so? That's your one and only source Shefter and you went with the story?

Wow that is shitty journalism if I ever saw it!

And no talk of suspension? 3 fines in 1 game? Really?

Not celebration fines, but fines where injury to other players was a distinct possibility and maybe even intended.

Time to get a hobby for Sundays.

And it wasn't like he kicked a ball into the stands or some silly fine. He had multiple fines where he intended to hurt or injure an opposing player. On multiple occasions...

At least he got fined for 3 infractions but I agree that a suspension is much more in order.

The NFL only changed their decision NOT to fine Burfict once it was clear that the Steelers had much more to GAIN from being collectively pissed off (and thus, much more motivated to win out) by this blatant omission. Clearly, the league still hates this team - it's just that fining (but not suspending) Burfict was ultimately the subtler and more clever way of showing it!

Bravo, Goodell!:stirthepot:

How can they not suspend a player for 3 infractions in one game??????

Let me know when there is an answer to this, please. I'm not sure I can remember such a blatantly out to injure a player than this POS second to Jack Tatum. I hope he gets snapped in two during a game, any game, I don't care who breaks his freakin bones, even the ball boy, don't care who does it. His ass should be on the bench, but if it takes a body cast to sit his ass, I would applaud whoever put him in it. Major POS and a disgrace to not only the league but the human race.

And remember when Hines Ward was called a dirty player?

This guy is just a dirtball. Where is the veteran leadership on the Bengals? Where are the coaches and players telling Burfict that this is not how it is done? Oh. Wait. That's right. He is their best player on defense and they run their defense around him.

Sames story, different piece of crap with this franchise. Lewis has always let the inmates run the asylum. But you know who is a terrible coach and something about ping pong tables....

Burfict is a POS and, I'm glad he got fined. Like it was mentioned he should have gotten one game suspension as well. Repeat offender??

Glad he was fined, but he should have also been suspended.

Between the ankle twisting incidents last year, his crossing the 50 during warm ups to start shit, his personal foul penalties and the blatant attempt to injure Big Ben on Sunday...he's got enough history to get suspended. I mean, that's why Harrison faced a one game suspension, for his history.

More for saying what he thinks of Goodell and actually having the guts to own his comments publicly. Most of the players in the league hate his guts, but Harrison's about the only one I've seen that has expressed his opinion of the guy to the media without requesting anonymity.

His fines should also have a rider that he automatically gets ejected on the next PF and suspended the next game. Trying to intentionally injure somebody is not part of the game. You can hurt them, but you can't injure them.

Steelers, Bengals combine for $138K in fines

By Mark Kaboly and Chris Adamski
Friday, Dec. 18, 2015

A number of players on both sides of last week's Steelers-Bengals game refereed to it as chippy.

It also proved to be quite expensive.

The NFL handed out nine total fines to seven players for a total of $138,906 — headed by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who was fined for three separate altercations, none of which included the pregame scuffle.

Burfict was fined a total of $69,454 for a facemask, unnecessary roughness and roughing the passer. Burfict was not penalized for hitting Ben Roethlisberger low during a first-quarter completion, but he was fined for it.

Also fined were five Steelers for a total of $57,876:

• Mike Mitchell ($23,152) for a hit on a defenseless player (Tyler Eifert).

• Antonio Brown ($8,681) for an illegal crack back block.

• David DeCastro ($8,681) for a facemask.

• Brandon Boykin ($8,681) for unsportsmanlike conduct (group demonstration).

• William Gay ($8,681) for unsportsmanlike conduct (group demonstration).

Bengals wide receiver AJ Green also was fined $11,576 for punting the ball into the stands following a touchdown.
