The NFL sided with it's officiating crew on Wednesday, regarding the questionable hit by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict (http://247sports.com/Player/Vontaze-Burfict-23492) on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (http://247sports.com/Player/Ben-Roethlisberger-75953) from Sunday's game.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, (https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/677212871604989952) the NFL decided not to fine Burfict for the controversial hit around Roethlisberger's ankles after determining that the linebacker was pushed into him on the play.
Of course, Roethlisberger already stated his feelings (http://pit.247sports.com/Bolt/Ben-Roethlisberger-calls-out-Vontaze-Burfict-Bengals-fans-42050992) on that explanation when he went on 93.7 "The Fan" on Tuesday.

"I don't buy that he was pushed. I think that he definitely was diving in low, and going for my legs," Roethlisberger said. "It's tough. I'm just glad I didn't get hurt. There's got to be a level of professionalism when you play guys."

The organization backed up their quarterback when according to ESPN's Ed Werder, (http://cin.247sports.com/Bolt/NFL-is-reviewing-Vontaze-Burficts-hit-on-Ben-Roethlisberger--42057610) they called the hit "a dirty play by a dirty player" after reviewing the footage for themselves. You can make your own judgment on the hit below, courtesy of former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch.
