Ben, the entire defense except for Blake.

K Boz. He scored the most points. Receivers were off a bit and so was Ben when Haley took the calls away and went back to choreography. They need to give Ben at least 2 quarters of every game, preferably the first two to call his own plays. This dancing around trying to play puppet ball is not as good.

AJ McCarron gets one from me. I spent commercial breaks checking out pictures of his wife.

Game Balls: Williams, The Boz and the Front side of the defense.

Goats: Back end of the D, lead by Blake. He shouldn't be on this team. He still can't cover, still can't tackle...he's useless and he'd be a liability on special teams as well.

DeAngelo.

Heath.

Tuitt's knee.

I'll go with this. Ben had all the time in the world today to throw the ball. What were the receivers doing?

I see Tomlin's shadow, Blake made two nice missed tackles and gave up a TD in two plays.....yet he continued to play.

Gameballs

Boswell: for being perfect today;

Berry:, for a very beautiful, very timely 53 yard punt (his only punt), putting the ball OB at the the 27, just as it came down. That punt seriously flipped field position at a crucial point in the game. Score was 16-10, and Cincy's offense was revving up. Thankfully, that punt, plus a four and out, allowed the Steelers to eat up clock on another very long drive.

DeAngelo Williams: This is one of those times when the stats does not tell the story. Williams only had 76 yards rushing on 23 carries (3.3 average), along with 2 catches. But he was Mr. Rise to the Occasion today. It seemed every time we needed him to come up with a good run, or make something out of nothing, he did.

Heath Miller: Guy was gold today.

Defense—as a Whole: While there's individual problems, as a whole, they allowed ONE TD outside of garbage time. Furthermore, they also scored a TD, putting them even for TDs during the game. Can't argue with that overall production.

Honorable Mentions

Offense—as a Whole: Strange game for the offense. They marched up and down the field. They only had one punt, scoring 2 TDs (both on the ground) and 4 FGs, and held the ball almost 36 minutes (and remember the defensive TD gave the ball right back to the Bungles. Yet, with all of that, they just didn't seem as overwhelming as in the past. Why? I have no idea.

Goats

I won't list any goats today with a win like we had, but I was distinctly disappointed in Blake today. Many times I've defended him in that I think we often get confused, thinking he's playing man on man, rather than zone. Not today. On that long TD, he bit, hard, and then couldn't catch up. It looked like a rookie mistake, and he's not a rookie anymore.

Goats? How about the refs? I swear, they get worse every week.

Don't be surprised if Blake is given a big contract this off-season.

Hero: Williams, Miller, Boswell, Gay...

Goats: Pretty much the entire pass defense, refs.

I tend to give the refs a large pass, especially with "judgment' calls. But even I was left shaking my head two or three times. I get the celebration penalty - can't have joint celebrations. But some of those other penalties really didn't make sense.

But yet Green was allowed to boot the ball into the stands without penalty after he scored. I fail to see how that was a judgment call. Not only could that be called as using the ball as a prop, it could also be ruled delay of game.

And I won't be holding my breath for Green to get a fine for it either.

Balls: the accurate Boswell, Heath, Ben, Tuitt, DWil for his TDs and Gay for his TD

Goats: Blake, Keith butler for having Blake covering AJ Green, the refs for letting cinci get away with pretty much everything and a special game goat to Vontaze Burfict, grow up!

They do and it's not just in the Steelers games, it's league wide. You aren't really supposed to know hey are there, but week after week, they step,up,to the forefront.

Like I said, I was left shaking my head two or three times. Of course, on Green booting the ball, chances are the refs didn't even see it. It's the same penalty missed on Bongtonio Holmes after scoring the game-winning TD in the SB when he used the FB as a prop in his celebration. I think players have learned to wait a few seconds before doing anything.

No real stand out for game ball. Everyone did their job as expected.

1 Ball for team effort.

1 Goat for defensive secondary pitiful tackling. Heyward should not be the guy making the tackle 15-20 yards down the field. Some of those sideline runs were maddening.

Except that Gay's excessive celebration resulted in a 15 yard post play penalty that saw us having to kick off from the 20 yard line in what was to that point a game who's outcome was far from decided. No sorry but Gay should have been mildly rebuked for taking his celebration too far by the coaches, not joined to the task as Porter did. Give Boswell credit for a good kick off for making that penalty mostly disappear.

My game balls go to Ben. That first drive set the tone for the day. Getting up early was huge, and then taking the Tuitt interception and driving from our own 10 to get a fg was also big. And of course if interference in the end zone is properly called we're no doubt looking at a 17-0 lead to start the game.

I'd give Boswell a game ball too. Not only was he perfect on field goals. But after a rough start with his first couple kick offs he started nailing them good. All touchbacks except for the one he had to kick off from the 20 due to the penalty. And that was a good kick off too.

On defense Tuitt for the early game changing pick. AndGay for the pick 6.

I wouldn't do it, personally.

Not that you're meaning it this way at all . . . but there's too many connotations to monkey with Marvin's race that'd make the whole think look pretty bad. I'd stay clear of it. (Again, I know you're not making any kind of connection there or saying anything of the sort. It's just something I think wouldn't look good for SU).
