Antonio was fined $11,576 for his TD celebration in the game against the Colts.

NFL = No Fun League

They fine a guy for celebrating a TD but no fines for illegal hits to the head of a QB. It figures.

Wait... what!?!

Let me get this straight...

Greg Hardy unloads on a coach: no one cares
AB makes us all laugh: fine!!!

:smh:

I understand why it was a penalty (he used a prop), but a fine???

Yep. Penalty = OK. Fine = Ridiculous!

That celebration is going to bring more sponsor money his way than the fine took.

But yeah, No Fun League rears its ugly head again. That was probably one of the funniest things I have seen in a game since Chad Johnson and the NFL wants to keep taking it away.

What a joke...not only a fine but an $11,000 fine? Lol. Okay...

Steelers get fined for everything. If that was Tom Brady doing that he would get a new Cadillac paid for by Roger Goodell.

Whatever :jerkit: AB destroyed the integrity of the shield and groins everywhere

It was a fun celebration, but I'm cool with the fine. Crotch- jumping the uprights is an activity that should be discouraged (yeah, I'm no fun just like the league).
Perhaps someone should start a "go fund me" to pay Antonio's fine? I'd be willing to chip in for the cause.

How about this NOT being fined?

I can understand people getting pissed off when AB gets fined $11K+ over something as trivial as that goal post celebration when they basically (and fairly routinely in Roethlisberger's case) look the other way on hits like the one above.

Textbook example of using your helmet as a weapon. Head down and leading with the helmet.

Yep, but apparently the 15-yard penalty alone was sufficient for that. But AB mock-humping a goal post in celebration? Nope. 15-yard penalty PLUS an $11K+ fine. Yet Roethlisberger has been hurt twice this season on shady hits and neither of them garnered a fine. Sorry, but I gotta call bullshit.

Agreed, I sure hope the Rooney's raised some hell over this. Hopefully someone switched Bennetts and Cam Thomas jockstraps after the game.

What makes you think the Rooneys raised hell?

Yet they don't fine the player who hit Shazier in the head.

As for Brown's, I am fine with it(a little high though). If they do nothing then where does it stop?

By his salary, compared to a guy making $50,000 a year...it's the equivalent of something like $70.00. Worth the fine.

As if it would do any good...

Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney, who all but served as the campaign manager for new NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, on Friday was hit hard by the man he helped shepherd into office less than three months ago.

Goodell fined Rooney $25,000 for his criticism of game officials after the Steelers' overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Adding to the irony, the action came on the same day league officials announced Falcons defensive end Chauncey Davis, whose apparent helmet-to-helmet collision on Ben Roethlisberger knocked the Pittsburgh quarterback from the game in the third quarter, would not be fined.

This bullshit has been going on ever since Chucklehead became the Commissioner. But then, the Rooneys are also partially to blame for it too.

This is what I liken the Rooneys' and Goodell's probable relationship to, in a nutshell...

I didn't understand how that didn't get fined . . . until you posted this. My guess is, they saw Irvin hit Ben and Ben starting going down, right into the path of Bennett, who glanced off him. If that's what they saw and the reason they didn't fine Bennett, I'd be okay with it . . . if it was a true policy change that was announced across the league to the players. (I doubt it was.)

AB's celebration was real lol . The ref also made me laugh when he announced the penalty. He had a bit of a cheeky smirk when he said "using goalposts as a prop" . Quality !

Does that mean Harrison can get a refund? :noidea:

Harrison, a former AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, briefly threatened to retire after the NFL fined him $75,000 for his Oct. 17 helmet hit on Browns wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi...

...Goodell requested the meeting with Harrison, held Tuesday at league headquarters in New York during the Steelers' day off. Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert accompanied Harrison...

...Harrison's major complaint concerns when a defensive player tries to avoid dangerous contact but an offensive player inadvertently instigates it by ducking his head. Harrison insists that occurred on the Massaquoi hit, one of two by Harrison that caused concussions to Browns receivers.

"That's what I have an issue with, there being consequences and repercussions for something that I can no longer control," Harrison said. "The response was that I'm a defensive player and I'm responsible for whatever happens when I make contact with an offensive player."

Since the "Spotter" didn't see the concussion there is no fine. Swept under the rug.

All you haters stop complaining. :sarcasm:

Jump on the wall at Lambeau Field - - - is fine and dandy ------ but run into a goal post costs $11,000...... I see the 'wall' is as much of a prop as the goal post - - both are part of the field....

Lack of parity on interpretation of what is right and what is wrong is more awful this season than ever - - - with controversy after almost every game..... And it almost seems like Goodell and his minions won't be happy until Ben is carted off the field for good....

AB scared the hell outta me with that move on Sunday - - - we really don't need a game or two without him playing, but I had so much fun watching the team have fun on and off the field for most of the game - - it was like everything was working - - - finally - - and they played with glee!!!!!! I was worried that the poor security girl might have gotten hurt, but she was just doing her thing - - who would have guessed that she was in any danger on a punt return......
