View Full Version : Week 14:Cincinnati Bengals(10-2)

The Steelers lost their last game against them, 16-10, but the defense probably had their best game of the season.

The Bengals defense is very good, but at the same time, they are not invincible, as they have given 34 points to the Cardinals in week 11.

Roethlisberger was probably rusty in the game against the Bengals in week 8 but since that game, the Steelers have scored 143 points in 4 games.

Roethlisberger is 10-2 in his career in Cincinnati, so I think the Steelers will win this game if they are not beat themselves with the turnovers as at Seattle

Dalton has the highest QBR in the league right now. Is this real life

If our defense can play like they did sunday, and our offense can play the same (minus the TO's) we will not only win this game, we will put the rest of the league on notice we will be the team to beat come playoffs. I am thinking we will be riding a wave of confidence to a 38-14 win with 1 Cincy TD coming in garbage time.

Ben's not going to be shaking off a month's worth of rust this time around, which should make a difference.

I don't know what it is, but I just feel confident about this one, actually for the rest of the season. This offense right now seems to be unstoppable. Denver will be the biggest test due to the pass rush they can put on. Villy will have his hands full, but with Deangelo chipping like he did against seattle it should be enough to keep Ben pretty clean. I just want us to get a fast start, put the Bungles behind early and we will have a field day making them one dimensional.

It's a must win and Ben will deliver. That's my George Foreman guarantee. The defense is another matter. I just hope it is not costly in terms of injuries.

It should be noted that if the Steelers win, they get tie-breaker over the Bills based on common opponents should the Steelers win this week and the Bills catch up to them, as long as the Bills finish with the same conference record as them (Steelers sit at 4-4, Bills 6-5)

I do not see the Bungles sweeping us. Especially not against Ben and three WRs with this momentum.

Plus, eventually, I expect the Bungles to have big letdown at some point. It is just the same with them every year.

The Steelers are basically fighting for their postseason lives.

The Bengals will want nothing more than to put Pittsburgh out for good. They want no part of Pittsburgh in the postseason.

Both teams have a lot to play for.

Wether they prefer to admit or not, regardless of record, and how far ahead they are in the division, the Bengals know the Steelers are a huge threat to them. The Steelers have been one of the few teams who consistently keeps them in check.

Darqueze Dennard out for the season. That leaves Pacman, Leon Hall, and Dre Kirkpatrick as the top 3. They dont like Dre on the bengals boards, and we already know Antonio Brown and Martavis can really handle Leon and Pacman from past match ups. This is probably the best bengals defense Ben has ever played against though.

Lets remember that theyre #1 in scoring defense

The Bengals defense is very good, but at the same time, they are not invincible, as they have given 34 points to the Cardinals in week 11.

The Bengals D haven't exactly faced a murderer's row of Quarterbacks the last two weeks. Case Keenum and Austin Davis.

They still deserve credit for winning their winnable games, though. Something I wish our Steelers would've done.

You can count on the Steelers using Bells injury to motivate them. Look for the injuries to be on the bengals side this time.

My two predictions:

1. Boykin intercepts The Ginger three times (two are pick-sixes).

2. SU blows up about how the Steelers would be 13-0 if the Steelers had started Boykin in every game.

Gay cleared the concussion protocol today, so he was able to practice! Heath is still questionable. I would like to be as close to 100% for the stretch as possible, can we afford to let Heath sit one more week though?

I think we can afford it .On our offense we could not afford the loss of Ben.Or could we.

i know these 2 teams for a long enough time that this game will be matter of fact on the field. I would not be surprised if it happened quickly.Once either team hits the peddle,it has to stay to the metal.

Pacman Jones confirms he's missing the Steelers game.

That is HUGE. Leon Hall also sat out practice today with a back injury thats been bothering him all season.

Bengals wont have Darqueze Dennard and Pacman for round 2. Im feeling a lot more psyched and confident for this game now. The bengal fans are fairly sour on Dre Kirkpatrick, and I expect Ben to test the rest of the backups who suddenly need to play (a rookie, and another nobody) a lot.

If we win this one can we play them 1 more time? Oh yeah baby ! So they are already resting up some players in expectation to go for the long haul .My advice to them is do all you can to win this match-up ,because if things go as planned, you do not want the STEELERS ! one more time.

Pro Football Focus has Dre Kirkpatrick ranked as one of the very worst CBs (right there with Antwon Blake and Brandon Browner).

Well, things are finally looking up for us, hopefully we can take these last 4 games as wins and ride a 5 game win streak into the playoffs. I also hope our defense can continue to improve on last weeks performance. We could be a very dangerous team if we make the playoffs.

I'm confident about this game. The Steelers offense isn't going to be stopped, and I think Boykin helps to sort of fix the secondary somewhat.

Steelers 47
Bengals 21 (with one garbage time score)

You may be right, but there is a problem I feel that lies underneath this. The issue is that we absolutely have to win for postseason hopes. We're in the same situation with Denver. I know that Cincy knows us well, but if we come out with guns blazing and beat them both and make the postseason, we will be on the road the whole postseason.

It is more than likely we will see Cincy and Denver again. We will have to beat Cincy in their house again in just a matter of a few weeks. That's very difficult to do especially against a divisional opponent. The same for Denver. If we beat them, we would have to see them next in Denver.

Both these teams will then adjust to what we did in the previous meeting. With that said, with us having to absolutely win these regular season games, how do we hold anything back without allowing them to adjust in the postseason if we make it? That as well as our health is my main concern.

Rotorhead
12-11-2015, 10:53 AM
Well both Denver and Cincy have finally been hit with the injury bug, so we just need to make it to the post season before we start thinking strategy. I am hoping we can go 4-0 and roll into the playoffs on a 5 game winning streak as healthy as we can get.

I just read that too, nobody lower than probable for us. Cincy has 2 CB's injured (Jones doubtful and Hall as ?) so that is good news for us! I know everyone likes to say we want to beat them full strength, but it is about time we get to play some teams reeling from injuries like most have played us this season! If the Broncos injuries last another week we should be able to get them too. Would be nice to get some injury Karma in our favor for once.
