The Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2016 was trimmed down to 25 on Tuesday during NFL Network's Gold Jacket Semifinalists special.

The original field of 108 nominees and these selections will be cut to 15 in early January. The group of semifinalists includes 22 players and three coaches, with 15 players on offense alone. Two of the biggest names are in their first year of eligibility: Brett Favre and Terrell Owens. Favre is certain to be a first-ballot choice, while T.O. will be one of the more fascinating case studies in recent history. The third player in his first year of eligibility, Alan Fancea, also has a real chance to make it to Canton.

The Class of 2016 then will be selected on Jan. 31 from the list of 15 modern-era finalists plus three senior nominees. The 2016 Senior Finalists are Ken Stabler (QB with Oakland Raiders, Houston Oilers, New Orleans Saints) and Dick Stanfel (Guard with Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins).

Former Broncos running back (and current NFL Network analyst) Terrell Davis and former Rams linebacker Kevin Greene have made the semifinalist list ten times, the most of any of the nominees. Marvin Harrison, Tony Dungy, Don Coryell, and Ty Law are also among the most fascinating names that will be debated in January.

A look at the complete list is below, and NFL Media's Elliot Harrison ranks the 25 players right here:

If Ricky Watters isn't in the Hall, neither is T.O getting in.

I don't care how good you were, you don't get a bust for being a cancer.

Gee..... If only I had seen that coming.

We (Raiders fans) knew it would take the Snake's passing before he would get in. F*** the HOF committee.

Yeah that's sad. Though I am glad he's going to make it on. (senior nominee's are virtually rubber stamped in once they make it to the finalist stage) At his peak he was the best in the game. Even though as a Steeler fan I hated the Raiders I do have to admit I always admired Kenny (Snake) Stabler. He and Biletnikoff were a precursor to Ben and AB the chemistry they enjoyed together.

I agree with your sentiment about the HOF committee a bunch of self righteous idiots like King. Snake Stabler should be there, just as L.C. Greenwood and Donnie Shell should have been there, but we know that most of these clowns subscribe to king's comments about not wanting a hall of Steelers in the Hall of fame. Hell Donnie Shell was a star player on a team as a free agent when the draft was more than 15 rounds.

Yea, I don't really follow that logic. I grew up watching the rivalry between the Steelers and Raiders. Both if those guys should be in.... especially Shell. Who cares how many players from one team are in? If they deserve to be there, they should be there.

Any particular voter (Rumored or known) that has stated that Snake shouldn't be in?

They really need to shake up the committee. Peter King or any other voter stating obvious bias against any player or team should be automatically replaced.

It shouldn't be in the hands of media people. Maybe a percentage, but not exclusively.
