Unless someone picks them up, a bunch of those players cut today should appear on the 8-man practice squad tomorrow.
I would figure the candidates are Frank Summers, Tyler Grisham, Dough Worthington and Kraig Urbik. I’m not sure if Patrick Bailey and Joe Burnett are eligibile but if they are, you’ll probably see them there as well as Sunny Harris...............

I really hope that Grisham makes the practice squad. From what I have seen from him he has good hands and has the potential to be a good receiver in the nfl.

I like Grisham as well. The problem is with the emergance of Brown and Sanders there just isn't much playing time available. I would also like to see Worthington make the squad.

Bailey and Burnett (and also Logan) are not eligible for the PS

I had a feeling Burnett wasnt eligible...as he played in a number of games las year. Thats a shame...i wonder what the deciding factor was in letting him go. Madisons ST play? or what? I know Butler out player him...so it would have came down to Madison vs. Burnett then.

Grisham was put in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

If Brown and Sanders haven't been so electrifying, he could've made the team.

I agree. He looked like he has a ton of upside and he knows how to get open.

What makes a player eligible or ineligible for the PS?

Getting questions on practice squad eligibility as seems to be bad info being floated today on some blogs: Click Here! (http://twitter.com/Steelersdepot)http://bit.ly/cEq741 (http://bit.ly/cEq741)

(Included in the link is a list of all players elegible for the practice squad.) (http://twitter.com/Steelersdepot)

It won't let me copy and paste but I think you'll find the answer there.

ditto. i was hoping he would make the team. he runs good routes and as you said he has good hands. he is a blue collar WR.

I think just about everyone liked him. He was just a victim of the number of WRs.

If Randle El was not the only other veteran reciever, besides Hines, I would of loved to see Grisholm take his spot.
If Grisholm lasts on the PS and both Brown and Sanders play well enough this season, the above might wind up happening next season. IMO

Bills signed TE David Martin and claimed G Kraig Urbik off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

totally agree

He didn't play that much so I don't think he'll get picked up. Wishful thinking maybe but whatever

Next season we could be seeing him on the roster as the 5th/6th receiver. Can't see both El and Battle sticking for two seasons

I knew he wouldn't last on the waiver wire. Well, at least he's playing in the NFL (albeit Detroit) versus the CFL. Good luck to Logan, except against us.

He was to good on returns not to land on a team somewhere.

I'm sorry to see both Logan and Urbik go but dems the breaks. I wish them both the very best. :drink:

As for Grisham - he really was at the wrong place at the wrong time. We just have so much talent at WR this season and I'm going to love seeing him compete for a slot at next season's TC.

Looks like the rest of the league is gobbling up the Steelers cut list. Kinda makes you wonder just how good the players we kept are.

Ain't that the Gods truth. I wonder how many sleepless nights the coaching staff had last week.

Que Sera, Sera, .... would have liked to see if Urbik would have developed into a starter for us. Playing next to Pouncy someday might have made him look better quickly, but I think at the best he turns into and average to slightly above average NFL guard. I don't think he has the athleticism to be a pro bowler , but time will tell. Time to draft the other Pouncy next year.:whoo:

I'm tired of the worthless 3rd and 4th round OL picks. This year with Pouncey should start a trend that proves we're serious about improving the OL.

We are heavy at WR and LB. No way Grisham or Bailey see any playing time during the season unless there was an injury plague. They would be way too far down the food chain.

+1. Lots of tough decisions we had to make. That's how coaches earn their paychecks.
