The NFL has filed its opening brief (https://twitter.com/McCannSportsLaw/status/658763060618858496) in the appeal of judge Richard Berman’s ruling in the Deflategate case between Tom Brady (http://www.si.com/nfl/player/tom-brady) and the league.
Monday was the deadline for the league to file its brief. The NFLPA, which is representing Brady in the case, has until Dec. 7 to respond and the NFL can file a reply on Dec. 21.
In its brief, the NFL says Berman, who overturned Brady’s four-game suspension last month, “vastly exceeded” his authority. It argues that the collective bargaining agreement between the league and . . . .

If the ruling is overturned, Brady ends up sitting in 2016 probably. Still, it's interesting.
